I used knockout mode against some people that were under the charms of an old hag, but they were all dead after. Not sure what occured.
If you hit NPCs with unarmed high strength characters, you can still kill them.

Knockout only works with melee attacks, spells still kill..It was mostly spells.
I agree, it seems like one of those great old PC-first games of yore which is probably why PC gamers are finding it so refreshing. I'm not sure what console players will make of it. I tried using a controller today in the game and although Larian have done quite well it's not easy to translate that interface to a controller. So I've been thinking about how the ps5 release is going to go. I think it will be interesting to see how the game is received by that audience.
First off the hype is already way higher than on the pc release, where it was all just people going, "hey Check out this cool game." ps5 players will have been bombarded by a month of "this is the best game ever, all other games should cower in fear!!!!"
And, I hope our console brethren will forgive me for this, PC gamers tend to be more used to a wider variety in games and genres. Like if you just play big popular games on PS5 many of them are mechanically quite similar. God of war, tomb raider, assassin's creed, uncharted, spiderman, the last of us, red dead redemption, even to a certain extent gta and the witcher. For the most part if you've played one of them, you have a pretty good grasp of what to expect in the others.
Baldur's gate isn't that. Even though with a controller it almost looks like it will be right up till you try to do something. Then it's all action wheels and waiting your turn.
I'm not saying all console players won't get on with it, probably not even most, but I have a feeling more ps5 players will bounce off it than PC players have. Though I guess the flip side is that for some of the people who have only ever played your big AAA console games before it might introduce them to a whole new idea of what games can be and do.
Anyway just a rambling thought. I am interested to see how it goes on PlayStation
I'm expecting it to get a more dampened reception on console, its a game that requires a certain degree of brain thought to play and of course as we PC exclusive gamers know console exclusive gamers are lesser lifeforms with smaller cranial capacitySo I've been thinking about how the ps5 release is going to go. I think it will be interesting to see how the game is received by that audience.

You never know, Starfield might end up being an overhyped AAA buggy mess of a release and you can be back in BG3 after a couple days after growing tired of glitching through the planets terrain and having your saves become unloadable and your ship being erasedStill persisting on, my latest gripe is how bloody awful the title music song is lol.
Not confident I'll finish this before Starfield and that will be a shame as I'll likely not return to it

I recall the early hands on impressions for Cyberpunk being good tooDon't think so, not from the early hands on impressions.
Didn't BG3 stop players saving due to a bug though.
