Baldur's Gate 3

Anyone else having their graphics settings reset/set themselves to whatever the hell they want at random? Seems some days i load it up and the game has decided i want to be on Ultra even though my PC struggles in some areas at that. Struggling to make it save and keep the settings i set.

Also question for anyone who has been through the shadow places safe area:
What happens if Isobel is carried off? I saved her because I'm a dirty save scummer, but i didn't think to wait and see what the cut scene had in store when she's carried away and what happens next in that scenario

I did an evil playthrough and let her be carried off, when I confronted the final act 2 boss she was brainwashed into following him.

Presumably if I went back to moonrise tower after she was carried off but before I did shadowhearts trial and killed Balthazar I would have seen a bit more of it if I got a friendly meeting with said boss first.

I might put the game on pause, theres a lot of insinuations of cut content in act 3. I'm wondering if they will update it significantly.

@starmanwarz did you mess up the post above?
As for answer to your question, I am playing in 1620p and downsampling via DSR to 1080p.

BTW, is anyone here in Act 3? I gotta say the game does not run quite as smooth there as in first two acts. The city hits CPU hard.

It is obvious there will be Enhanced Edition, just like there was for DOS1 and DOS2. I would bet they will also add proper third person cam for which mods must be used now.
But the game is very replayable, so I don't mind playing it now and doing new playthrough in few years with new content added and another character being played.

Think of it this way...the tv show Firefly was cut after the first series, but I'd still watch that first series :D
I tried watching that a few years ago, fell asleep I was so bored  A Series never finishing really irks me so I tend to avoid them too. Good comparison for me would be something like hunter x hunter :D

Dang ! I specifically picked that series because most people liked it, ah well, I guess the point I was trying to make is still there underneath. That something good is still worth doing even if its got bits cut out. Er...see now I'm trying to think of something else as an example...... The Young Ones maybe? Or Fawlty Towers? Both scrapped after just 12 episodes but those 12 episodes are still worth watching

Yeah I've experienced a few things like that but I was anticipating the culmination of my decisions so much with this game, to hear that some of it is unsatisfying / poorly done / obviously cut is really off putting. I mean I've experienced it with mols quest line along with another one already.

Well could be a good time to pause I guess, what with Starfield coming out imminently to crush our expectations give us a grand sci fi RPG to play alongside the grand fantasy RPG :)

I'm expecting a buggy mess for the first month :D But yeah I'll probably be playing it on release!

Firefly is amazing. Also, Firefly is finished with proper, super satisfying ending. It received a full blown movie called Serenity that wraps up the story.

I used to think Firefly was amazing. Was a huge fan for many years. I was in the cinema for Serenity on day 1.

But I watched it recently and it's really started to date IMO. It has that very simplistic episodic TV feel now. I think that 20 years ago we maybe didn't have huge amounts of amazing TV series, and things have just got so much better over the years.

I couldn't get into Firefly either.

Hunter x Hunter is not finished but I think it ended at a good point, to compare it, I'd say Hunter x Hunter was sort of like what ending this game at say end of Act 1 or Act 2 would be like, it's not complete, but you kind of feel like you did everything up to that natural breakpoint.

For a space cowboy type show that is more interesting, I liked Cowboy Bebop more. The anime ver not the live action one.

Anyone got any good tips for combat? I do seem to struggle sometimes.

I was wondering around the underdark and this spectator attacked me and instantly killed 2 of my party before I even got a turn for example.
This fight was much easier at character level 5, and with the level III spells

He still downed 2 of my party but I killed him with two other party members at full health.

he nailed me easy i went and done other stuff after i got up to level 5 and easy mode he was super easy, think i was level 3 when he first jumped out on normal and wiped my party lol

I have yet another bug where Lae'zel doesn't join even when you ask and she says so am stuck with me (Rogue), Cleric, Wizard and Warlock
I'm a bit further on in the game now, at the Mountain pass and I still can't add Lae'zel to my party, and yes that is when dismissing somebody else first. I just wanted to progress her story on this bit.

Since this bug I even found Karlach and she was added to my party fine, so this is yet another annoying bug.

Edit - Apparently a known bug and happens if you let her
kill you in camp, then resurrect
