BARGAIN - OcUK 24" with DVI (*VA Panel) for £179.99+VAT (This Week Only Deal!!)

That's good to hear, so the 24B is a totally faultless model so if I was to search round the forums I wouldn't find a few people with say stuck pixels or a little backlight un-uniformity

There are not loads of issues with this panel, the vast majority of people are very happy, including me. There are a few people with issues (as with any other TFT) and they post more than the satisfied people as they are looking for more info on possible causes/remedies.

All true but I havent seen or heard of any issues on the Samsung 245B yet....

Im very well aware that this is still the biggest thread ever on screens and that only the people with issues will post here the 99% other owners are too busy enjoying it ;)

But still it sends a shiver down the spine of my wallet.

Very nice display but I have one dead pixel in bottom right corner which take 1 star straight away for display which cost 300£ (I know 1 pixel is well within tolerance but I'm perfectionist when it comes to my PC)....

I have just purchased the samsung 245B monitor and have a red pixel showing on a black screen. What is the policy for this, does it require multiple pixels to die as i cant see anything about it in the samsung literature.

:p:D

They might.

Dont forget that prices of LCDs and other technology items are continually coming down in price (thanks in part to the cheap Chinese manufacturing), so expect to see the price of this particular (and other LCDs) drop. Wait till the new year though.

Just had a peek at mine (Christmas present) and it's a L2442W v.0. I ordered this Tuesday (18th) evening and received on Thursday (20th). I'm guessing people with the v.3's are having more problems than the v.0's - Am I correct in saying this, and it is possibly a different panel type or not?

Just interested, now I just have to hope for no stuck/dead pixels *touch wood*. :D

There are >10 people who have posted the panel version they have so although there seems to be more v3's with issues with such a small sample there's no way you could call it a trend.

Have a look at my post above, there are only minimal differences in the specs between the two versions so they are more or less identical.

Ok now i am royally annoyed!! Had the RMA monitor for around 4-5 days and I just switched it on and there is a black line AGAIN!!! So looks like its going to be a thrid monitor for me. It was fine last night, is there anyway I might be able to get rid of the line?

I got two monitors as well and both had lines either going down or across the screen. I did two separate orders as well to ensure xmas delivery but it's not looking good that i'll get the original replacement in time. This has annoyed me so much to the point that i might just stump up for a more expensive reliable monitor!

D'oh hope i get a good one after reading through seeing some of the affected panels! Ordered friday 21st to arrive monday (hopefully)! Will my spec be ok to game at decent res? I currently only play cs:s, bf2 and cod4 on a 17" crt. Specs are p4 [email protected], 3 gig ram, x1950 pro agp, windows xp.
Will check my model and version numbers when it arrives and post some pics if all is ok!

hey, been watching this thread for a while and I'm wondering about ordering one, I was just waiting to see if it was a bad batch or what not.

If I were to primarily use this for my 360 & films would you recommend this? Its not really been mentioned yet...

merry christmas

Few more pics from me....

Have borrowed the LG M228WA and stuck it next to the DGM for comparison, and although the brightness is a little too high (for me) on the DGM it definately looks nicer then the LG, though i love the LG very much.
