Batman Arkham Knight - Official Thread!

Seems okay ish at 1080p but VRAM usage is (too?) high and I saw RAM peak in processes at just over 10GB (!)

Hopefully SLI support will get added as the framerate is poor at 1440p - dont think I'll be playing this at 4K until I upgrade again which is probably at least a year or 2 away :p

Yeah, Mad Max performs simply superbly at 1440p and looks very good. And I got it ridiculously cheap. Why can't this?

I've just tried it and it does seem to run a bit better than before with all GW effects on except light shafts, but there's still a lot to be desired during batmobile sections. I can't monitor the framerate because neither Fraps nor AB's OSD work with this brilliantly optimised gem, but I can feel the fps hover around 40-45 fps in certain places when driving the batmobile.

I can't get a refund since I bought it off some bloke, so I guess I'll plod through it sometime down the road. But when I think I could've used my money on Fallout 4 or Just Cause 3 instead...:o

EDIT: Do you still use the tweak tool after the patches, Nexus?

MSI AB/rivatuner is working fine for me here.

I have found the batmobile sections to be ok, it is just certain areas where my FPS plummet i.e. when I first went inside Bruce's office at Wayne towers, the FPS went down to 23.

No, however, assuming that the tool still works, I will use it again as right now the game is unplayable for me :(

OSD doesn't work with Gameworks on.

I've actually used the tool but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Might even made things a bit worse, or maybe it's just me:p

I don't get any crashes but have some problems with driving sections. I don't believe they'll ever fix this game so I try to get through it, especially that I can't get a refund. However, I'll be wary of future WB/Rocksteady titles from now on and it'll be either pirate or don't buy.

Oh, I thought they would have fixed that issue by now...

It made a massive difference for me before any patches landed especially with regards to reducing texture pop in.

But yeah, some people reported no changes when using the tool.

Unfortunately I am always wary of any PC games now hence why I never pre-order :p Thankfully steam's refund system is a god send but it's a shame that they are usually quite a bit dearer than other sites.

@Amatsubu - I find that as long as I start Fraps before Steam and AK, it will display the FPS counter even with Gameworks on.

It does, thanks mate:)

Seems it's pretty decent now. Didn't have time to tinker with it yesterday but I've just checked and I'm getting almost solid 60fps when roaming around with almost everything maxed (textures on medium and AA/light shafts off) and 47-58 in the batmobile, so still playable. You can feel it's not perfectly smooth but there seem to be none of those annoying stutters I had before patching. I'll test some more in the evening and I hope it continues to perform acceptably.

Yeah, I also felt a difference when I used it before but now I'm not really sure. Maybe the patches are conflicting with it? I've used it to further improve things a tiny bit but it feels practically the same as with the patches alone.

Regarding Steam, I usually fish for games on key sites and auctions because, just as you say, Steam is quite expensive. And thumbs up for never pre-order policy:p

It's frustrating for me when people post that Fraps or OSD with Afterburner monitoring for example doesn't work with a game when it works perfectly for me!

It does work with the right combo of hardware I guess and yeah maybe I'm one of those lucky few. I wish I could put my finger on what is making it work for me exactly but I can't.

Maybe one thing I've done recently which has made a noticeable difference in general not just with this game and that was to switch to an external USB DAC/Amp. That's one set of drivers eliminated from the equation as there is only a basic USB composite driver built in to Windows that simply passes the sound data in a digital format to the USB port.

The other thing to consider if not done already is to delete and re-install the game files fresh from Steam. Yes that may mean a long download for some but it may be worth trying.

They have probably just used most of Kaiden's tweaks/fixes tbh and I don't think he has updated the tool in a while so probably some conflicts.

He did a far better job in 1-2 weeks than these jokers.

It's running a solid 60FPS for me outside of the batmobile. Drops down to mid to high 30's when I first get in the batmobile due to the smoke but when it's moving, it's back up to 60.

That's with everything maxed at 1440p including all the GameWorks guff.

Is there any way to roll back patches?

This game is just ****ing awful now for me, can't seem to fix the low GPU usage thus **** FPS

No idea :(

I didn't have this problem before the last patch, on some parts it goes to 90% GPU usage and then other parts, as you see I get that :/

Since the update, the game won't even launch for me. Thankfully I completed it last week with only minor issues. However, I was hoping to try the DLC:(

I'm finding the same, I had a solid 60FPS prior to the most recent patch, now it's 40-60FPS with GPU usage barely breaking 50%. It's such a shame Steam doesn't allow for backing out of patches.
