Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

I think it could well be the DRM causing issues, it caused havoc in FIFA. Not sure when these companies are going to learn. Witcher 3 has had it's rough share of issues but seemingly compared to this it was a launch masterpiece.

Still doesnt explain the ridiculous decision to lock the pc game to 30 fps.

I'm not so sure with Nvidia been equally crippled in this too.

I just think it's a really badly coded port and shouldnt have been released fro another month until they had finished it.

What's that got to do with anything? DRM is the piracy protection. The type it's using is very intrusive and accesses hardware, has been known to cause major issues in the past yet Rocksteady have gone with it anyway.

Nothing in this game can be blamed on NVIDIA, unless you're truly 'just' to the cause of slander as some tend to be. This is a case of it's not ready, but we can't delay any further - mixed with we don't want people to pirate the game at all.

Take Unity, AC:Unity is a very good game. Some will read that and snigger for many reasons. Mainly overall because of the huge negative press it received at launch because that wasn't ready either. How WB and Rocksteady couldn't look at that as a glaring example of why not to release now and patch later, I don't know.

I've resolved the issue with the video memory down clocking. It also has system RAM usage at a more sane 5GB and the video RAM at 3GB instead of 4GB. This will also allow you to run FRAPS or AB OSD overlay in game.

Simply switch off the 2 Nvidia interactive settings for fog and paper.

This has my 980 pushing the game at a solid 60fps at 1080p with the GPU barely breaking sweat at 60% usage.

.

Not sure you understood me. I said Nivida having the same or worse issues as AMD and hence i beleive the game isnt ready, not that its just a DRM issue.

Nowhere did i blame or try and blame Nvidia. Some people are just too touchy i guess

This is wierd

My game is running fine on nvidia 4gb 770

Updated drivers 3-4 hours ago

Getting solid 40-60fps, no dips, runs great

I did notice however "textures = normal" setting

Where's the high/ultra?

PS4 is the lead platform boom but they also don't cripple performance with Gameworks extra paper and fancy smoke on consoles. We wonder why there is little difference between the PS4 and PC ports but we need so much more power, it's because they take our master race hardware and try to ruin it :D

There isnt one. Normal is the most u get on the pc port :P

What console devs/players always forget is that we PC players will still be there in 4-5 years, when the current gen of consoles is dead and gone.

I thought we were past these shenanigans after watch dogs and AC unity.

Still, I'm not getting the performance issues many others are having. But I realise the problem does exist so those who are having issues have my sympathy

No you genuinely didn't make any sense, you're comparing both vendors performance and saying you don't think it's DRM because they're both struggling?

This doesn't make any sense.

Sorry I should have made it clear. Both vendors are struggling with different issues. The whole game even on ps4 has bugs (needed a 3.5gb patch on first day) and still has bugs where batmobile can fall through the gameworld floor etc.

If AMD and Nvidia were have the same issues then I might accept it was all down to DRM. DRM may not be helping and causing some of the issues but overall its just an unfinished game.

for example, hacking the ini file to remove 30 fps cap, causes issues with some of the phsyx in some parts of the game as its not set tyo cope with framerates over 30 fps. That clearly is nothing to do with DRM>

Indeed, started playing on PS4. Pretty impressed so far.

Something has to be said for the convenience of the PS4. Let's me play with only part of the game downloaded. No tweaking needed, has the Dev's attention lol.

I think next year I'll grab it on PC in Steam sale. Hopefully a Pascal Titan X with 16GB HBM 'might' be able to run this game :p Like you say it's ridiculous that we have all this power, but it doesn't get utilized. Titan X should destroy this game..

Anyway back to it... I'm Batman.

Right, yeah I'd certainly agree it's not DRM alone. Capping the games framerate is a clear ditch attempt at masking issues, there's no reason for this. To not even specify it till consumers found out for themselves is 100% no question about it asking for trouble.

So glad I'm stuck at work so haven't activated my steam code yet. Just read through the G2A T&Cs so I can get a refund quite easily as I haven't even viewed the activation code yet.

It really ****s me off that I/We spend an awful lot of money on going x99 and watercooling etc when there seems to be a constant stream of disappointment from new releases for the master race that are just pathetic ports from the 'lesser' OTS consoles.

I think after the recent debacles of AAA titles being buggy to say the least on release date, I'm thinking AC, Project Cars, GTA and now this I definitely won't be part of the pre order gang anymore and more than likely will be waiting for the Summer/Winter sales on Steam.

Looks like that refund will be funding my purchase of Batman on PS4 this evening.

(And I appreciate not everyone, myself included has issues with every title, every time but the general forum consensus is usually correct, especially when it isn't limiited to one forum)

Just a massive shame that I have a 'high end' rig yet my PS4 which cost half the price of my GPU seems to be the lead with AAA games.
