Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

The annoyance for me is that performance has severely degraded with the "re-release" patch. On the interim patch I had a solid 60FPS, but it's now highly variable with GPU usage often sitting at 50%.

Sadly there appears to be no way to downgrade to the previous patch.

This is exactly what I have experienced too, although I find it strange that not everyone reports the same issue. I've seen it on both my systems, which have different CPU, MOBO, GPU etc.

Tried other drivers? I have a similar setup (haswell + 980ti) using 355.98 and my gpu utilisation is very good.

60FPS frame lock, 60hz, no gsync, 1440p

For what its worth the videos look fine and smooth on my PC with gsync disabled, also look fine on my phone. Might be worth checking your browser plugins etc... if its hitching.

To me i can see some slowdown at points and it does not look 60 fps smooth. I think it's the snow giving of that effect though. I think without the snow and whatever youtube does in play it would probably look more like 60 fps. Overall i think it looks playable.

I have had no performance issues since the September patch.
Running at 4K with no AA and only only enhanced rain from the gameworks section. Everything else on high, I averaged 60 fps with a minimum of 30fps which occurs at the exact moment the test starts.

Memory usage ingame is about 5-5.5GB

my 980ti is running at ~1400 for the entire test.

On a side note I actually really enjoyed the gameplay, there were times I felt the batmobile was overused but the story was good.

What driver you on?

There is some occasional drops to the mid 40's if you watch the fps counter, which is likely a flaw in the engine as those same drops only hit the high 70's with the fps capped at 90.

Let's not forget all those lovely gameworks extras are chewing up roughly a third of my frame rates too, I'd wager with those disabled the frames wouldn't budge from the limiter.

Compared to the mess it was, they haven't done a bad job fixing it tbh, we can only speculate at the amount of reworking it's taken to get to this point. Hopefully we'll see mgpu sorted in the near future as that was by far and away the worst part I encountered, negative scaling lumpy mess :p

Yea it does not look bad at all compared to the horror show it was at launch for the majority. It's a shame as the game itself is very good. My mate loaned me it on the ps4 as i have never really liked the series to much so was not going to buy. I loved it and on the ps4 it was pretty flawless as it should have been for the PC. For those still having the problems i would persist as if they get this working good for all it's a game worth playing.

You only have to look at the user score of the ps4 and pc reviews to see how bad the pc release was.

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/batman-arkham-knight PC users giving 2/10

http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/batman-arkham-knight PS4 users giving 7.3/10

I feel even the user score on the Ps4 is selling the game short.

Bloody wierd i had great performance when i bought it but now at 1440p wit or without gameworks i get some points where it barley gets above 40fps.

This is on 980ti running at 1500. The GPU usage is bloody low to.

I have only owned the game for since friday but something changed and poof there goes the performance.

I think it's a driver issue but I CBA to uninstall and reinstall drivers. I'll wait until I've finished TW3 and hopefully it'll be fixed by then.

It seems pretty bad around ..

the area where riddler is keeping catwoman.

strange thing is my gpu doesn't even boost up at that point so low is the usage.

My drivers havent changed since the 7/10/2015... might try some beta ones.

Update just changed all my settings to lowest and it still runs at the same frame rate.

Then 1080p and dsr 4k same frame rate at least at 4k i get my gpu to boost ! :(

I've now tried both the 355.98 and 358.50 drivers and the issue with FPS drops and low GPU usage persists. As mentioned previously, this never happened on the interim patch.

Tried 355.98 / win10 and it seems ok-ish.
I use adaptive vsync in NVCP with vsync disabled ingame and it generally stays at 60 with dips to the 40's every now and then while flying around or in the car (GW all on, everything maxed @1440p).

I could live with that odd bit of stutter if it wasn't for the inevitable 'render thread exception' crash that WILL happen every damn time at some point.
