Batman™: Arkham Knight Performance

Are they looking us with a straight face whilst saying Windows 10 users should have 12GB of RAM for the best experience!? At least we get all the previous games for free....

A cruise around in the game on foot, spoiler below is in spoiler tags for a reason...

This is at the point in the game that you clear the cloud burst, roughly 70% through the game.

2560x1440 (note I accidentally left SP at 1080p60 max recording)

everything on high, 16x AF, all gameworks enabled, 90FPS cap left untouched.

980Ti
355.98 driver
4770K @ 4.6ghz
16GB 2400mhz DDR3
Windows 10

E: I also have no idea if all the cloud etc.. on the floor is done by gameworks or not.

game performance looks ok when you are flying through the air and up high. The frame drops seem most obvious down at ground level, yet no one seems to like showing off low to the ground and having poor numbers displayed on the overlays lol.

Game does not look that good on 1080p but is still better than the consoles.

2160p looks much better than 1080p. Could do with SLI and C/F being fixed for 4K though.

Whether the game is on DX11 or DX12 does not even come into it, there are far better looking games on DX11.:)

Coming up...

No real poor numbers though, dips into the 60's when making the batmobile smoke, gameworks interactive smoke and fog hammers the GPU in large quantities - though it does say this in the games graphic options. Looks nice though.

Still a bit of hitching but it is certainly better. This was done with everything maxed.

R9 290X @ 1100/1450

As Arkham Knight issues persist, Warner Bros. announces unconditional refunds through the end of 2015.

Following a launch plagued by stuttering, freezing, memory leaks, glitches, and more issues that resulted in the title being pulled from PC sale, Batman: Arkham Knight became available again last week. However, players continued to report problems with the title. As a result, Warner Bros. has announced that a full refund will be made available for anyone who wants their money back.

"We are very sorry that many of our customers continue to be unhappy with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight," Warner Bros. wrote on the game's Steam page. "We worked hard to get the game to live up to the standard you deserve but understand that many of you are still experiencing issues."

Until the end of 2015, Warner Bros. will be issuing unconditional full refunds for Arkham Knight, "regardless of how long you have played the product." Refunds will also be available for the DLC pass, as long as it is returned with the full game.

For anyone who wants to try to stick it out, Warner Bros. will continue to try to address the issues that are able to be fixed, "and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix."

Has this ever happened a game before? Launched, withdrawn, "fixed" launched again then they start offering refunds for it. iirc they also started to do refunds after the initial launch?

I think people have become too obsessed with the visuals and have forgotten about the gameplay.

25 to 30 years ago every game had awful graphics but they tended to have very good gameplay.

Maybe it looks smooth in Gsync/Freesync but on youtube it looks stuttery. This is poor considering that's happening on a top end card. On mid range cards I expect it will be worse when it dips below 60 fps.

Can someone upload a video where its locked to 60 fps with vsync. That will show if the stutter is only due to fps fluctuation or because of poor optimisation.

60FPS frame lock, 60hz, no gsync, 1440p

For what its worth the videos look fine and smooth on my PC with gsync disabled, also look fine on my phone. Might be worth checking your browser plugins etc... if its hitching.
