Possibly. It was most likely just a rumour though. I can't imagine why they'd want a batman from a previous franchise when they're starting a new one.

Would have been a huge mistake anyway IMO.
 
Not sure what the deal is with the soldiers kneeling in front of superman, gives the impression he's on a power trip or something? :confused:
 
I was about to post that I hope Frank Miller is getting paid for what appears to be a ripoff of "Dark Knight Returns", but it seems he's involved anyway, here.

Check out the soldiers' shoulder patches. They are the "S" logo.

If the story is a re-imagining of Dark Knight Returns, the world is a pretty different place, with an older, wiser, and more jaded Batman and Superman. I think they've both realised the fight is never ending and just catching the bad guys is not enough.

Superman can keep the world safe, but that never lets humanity grow and stand on it's own feet, because everyone looks to him to do the important things. Batman wants people to make their own fates, free themselves from living under the auspices of a god-like being. He sees the only way forwards is to take Superman out of the picture.
 
Pretty sure its Jeremy Irons (Alfred) doing the voiceover...

Looks good but Snyder's trailers always do, he can do great visuals in his sleep I just hope its paced better than MoS. Like the direction of the storyline although still something weird to me about Superman in such a dark movie but I generally liked MoS apart from the 45 minute fist fight with a giant tentacle and Zod so am hopeful Snyder has honed his techniques a bit (or has a lot of input from other sources as he is laying the foundation for DC's universe).

Oh my God. Now that is interesting.

Read the dark knight returns. When supes takes orders from the president. Really not sure what to make of this! The lack of sleep doesn't help.

Will be sure to watch it again though and check it out.

More than that, Supes has hunted down all other heroes who have refused to retire, and is acting as the USA's superweapon - and despite that, the world has gone to ****.

Just bought batman dark knight returns part 1 and part 2, comes with the comic aswell because of this movie trailer. Cant wait looks very awesome, we have some amazing films coming out this year and next :)
 
OK so another major issue I have is if this is based on TDKR then it is at the end of their time so how the heck can the Justice league be formed after this, unless there is going to be some time travel involved...

Going to reserve judgement for after I've seen the movie but my first impression is this should have been the last movie they do with Superman/Batman not the first.
 
Its not based on TDKR, its borrowing certain elements and the guy that wrote the book has helped refine the script. I do think that we're going to see a fairly decent time jump from MoS to this one though, that's fairly obvious from the teaser.
 
When I saw the bootleg trailer I thought the "do you bleed" line sounded cool, now I've heard in the HD trailer and realised it's a synthesised voice rather than just a deep growl I'm not so sure.
