Why not Anthony Davidson? Surely he would be better on TV with the larger audience. I don't mind DC, but he is only slightly less boring than Legard.

I'd love for one race, to have on the BBC's red button, May, Clarkson and Hammond commentating.
It'd be a complete car crash, but would probably be pretty funny as well.
This. He was great doing CART for Eurosport, great doing F1 for Eurosport and the failed digital attempt. Great on the BTCC.
He is one of the best commentators around at the moment. I'm not sure two ex drivers is a good idea. You need someone with some enthusiasm like Walker had. Sure he screwed up all the time, but man he could make a boring race exciting. Ben Edwards has a bit of that. Him and Brundle would make a great combo.
Charlie Cox. No no no and no. I hate the Eursport no longer have live coverage for MotoGP as Toby Moody is streets ahead of Cox as a lead commentator. I don't mind Steve Parish so much, but Julian Ryder dioes a better job.
I mean Cox doesn't half have some annoying phrases. Two that spring to mind are "eleventymillion" WTF? and "are there any questions" which he says damn near every time anyone makes a pass. Although guess that wouldnt be as a big a problem in F1
Crap, really? You would seriously call any driver who competed for 12 season in Formula 1 (and to the best of my knowledge didn't pay for his drives) crap. You would call a driver who got 9 podiums crap. You would call a driver who won the Worlds Sports Car championship crap? Wow...

That is so wildly inaccurate its untrue - the only single time I can think of that MW went head over heals over DH was in Japan 96 when Damon won the WDC "Ive got to stop because Ive got a lump in my throat" (or words to that affect)
Otherwise Murray was pretty neutral (in comparison to other drivers)
Allen was always going on and on about Ferrari and MS (and I wouldnt write off the Mercedes being a decent car next season either, so if JA did get the gig it WOULD be the same story all over again)
Hope Legard does get the chop, not particularly keen on Croft I have to admit but he would definitely be a step in the right direction (but then 5 live's coverage would get considerably worse as well)
From what I remember, Murray Walker was extremely biased towards British drivers. This includes, Herbert, Hill and of course Mansell. Neutral, he certainly wasn't.
With regards to James Allen (unless I am thinking about someone else), if memory serves me correct, that guy was neutral towards Ferrari, but was orgasmic everytime he caught a glimpse of or spoke of L.Hamilton.
