Benq FP241W (Now available from OcUK!!!!!)

where have you heard that? There's not been anything released from BenQ to suggest it has this option, in fact the screen is pretty much identical to the FP241W, but with the addition of BFI technology (AMA-Z listed). The manual for the FP241WZ is available here and makes NO mention of such an option in their OSD and in fact remains with the wording that lower resolutions than 1920 x 1200 will be stretched and interpolated to fill the screen. As much as we'd like to see this option available, i really don't think it is in the FP241WZ sadly....

Badass,

Thats why I said I don't put much stock in it, until I see it down on a document I trust.

I had read it in another thread, so I am always dubious of things like that.

Since this screen is for use on a PC, which has an Nvidia card on it, the inbuilt 1:1 mapping is a moot point anyway, since the card supports it.

either way, u were wrong, and as punishment u must buy me a dell 2407 :p

i just placed an order for a 2407. It may make an appearance in members market though if their is banding in the greyscale. I really didnt want this monitor, but the market left me with no choice. :(

the lack of aspect ratio/1:1 mapping has put me off this screen. at themoment im using a 26" 1366x768 lcd and its realyl nice, but id like a higher rez, even if it meant dropping a couple of inches. but i dont want to lose my aspect ratio functionality as ill be playing older consoles and such.

that westinghouse 37" looks the nutts. if anyone finds a good way of getting it to the uk let me know!

the new NEC 26" might be up your street if u can afford the extortionate £1,500 price tag that was quoted on tftcentral

no worries, if you see anything official let me know. As it is, i dont think we will see this option any time soon, if at all.

Yeah you are right, I sent BenQ an email about this last week and got this reply today

Dear Jazz

At the moment the FP301W is still in development so we have no information on launch or price.

The launch of the FP241W will be November 6th in the UK. Our preferred reseller for this product is Overclockers, please see their contact details below:

We are expecting the FP241WZ at the beginning of December.

Web: www.overclockers.co.uk
Tel: 0870 4430880

I am afraid both FP241W and FP241WZ will not support pixel mapping.

Best Regards

BenQ UK

A shame really as if that monitor did support 1:1 pixel mapping, unless I'm not understanding the situation here it kinda makes it pointless to plug your own device in if it is gonna stretch it so odd choice by BenQ

So assuming you don't want HDMI but do want to use a PC (via DVI) and an external device (Xbox 360 which I assume to get 1080i or P you need to connect over componant as 360 VGA output seems to be 1300x700ish) we're back to the Dell 2407 being the way to go?

Bugger......

i thought the dell only did 1080i via component and does not support 1080p at all?

Sorry if this has already been asked -

In the shop's description it says 800:1 contrast ratio but under it in the stats it says 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Which one is correct?
