The 8800 is for people with money to waste. For most people though the better option is to go for a cheaper card that will still play all their games at a good performance. Anyone who pays £380 bucks extra for a card that plays the game at an almost imperceptibly smoother rate is a moron plain and simple.

Give it up mate its no good, new gen brigade are relentless, we've all tried, just accept it like the rest of us, new gen G80, no exceptions, thread will only get more trashed. :(

I could say that my 6600GT plays ANY game just like Darg said his 7600GT would.................
Wether it has the settings at the lowest and is playable or not is a different matter,
Saying a mid to low range card like the 7600 runs ANY game is one thing :rolleyes:
Saying it runs ANY game playable is another :D
Saying it runs ANY game at MAX settings is absolute BS :eek:

But still..he didn't actually confirm or deny that you could or could not step up to the 8800 specifically...unless i'm reading his post wrong (previously in that thread). They could just be standing by stepping up from within ranges (7900GT to 7950 etc) :p Who knows :)

So buying a GX2 for £370 makes more sense than buying a 8800 GTS for around the same price?

That doesn't give them the right to make false statements such as a 7600 GT will play any game maxed.And calling poeple morons for buying the latest hardware.

If you dont have the money don't moan about poople who do.
 
I am not sure if that is directed at me personally. But I haven't moaned about people deciding to buy the G80. I am just saying that some people will just never see what you see, in the reasons for the G80 - money being the BIG factor.

It wasn't directed at you.

So they should get on with playing games at lower resolutions and quality settings.
 
Just give it up, they do not give a rats ass if you can get a GTO for £180, or an x1900 XT for £170 now that will cut through every game for the next year, they aint new gen, so do not buy them as the new gen is coming in 5 days FACT, its pointless buying old gen cards 5 days away from new gen launch FACT.

I have to admit, for a moment I was thinking "Where IS this G80 brigade?" - I was about to flame you for lying :p

But here they all come...
 
I'd rather just buy one than spend the next 6mths posting on the forum trying to pursuade myself and others that it was a waste of money because I can't/don't have one. ;)

Are there any previews available? thread is too long to read it all.
