Done a 33 mile loop on the Slash today, I was a little concerned about how it would climb and tbh, its better than my Commencal. I'm so pleased with it, it rides spot on, its so fast on the down hills it honestly feels like my old Session 88. So glad I went with this instead of the Remedy! All in all. Chuffed! :D

Also weighed it at 30.50lbs as it is with pedals etc.

Great spec!,
The RRP of £4.3k is high for an aluminum frame; carbon bikes with the same spec are around that price new.

Shredded some gnargnar at tidders - just rode berninator all afternoon lol
lol General berminator is awesome! berms are starting to get a bit blown out though, some nasty holes in them last time i was up.
i usually spend most of my time alternating between Berminator and Hooper Struve
i've still not attempted the last jump on whiteline.

Carbon frame version is £5k retail with worse spec. Next spec up in carbon frame is £7k!

But you are paying for Trek after sales service as well, which is second to none in my eyes!

The Specialized Stumpy & Enduro Carbon Evo Expert are £4.6k with the same spec, they also have an awesome (tested) frame replacement scheme ;)
They gave me my frame and shock (£2.6k) as a replacement for my 2008 Enduro SL because the headset bearing liner fell out. I was super stoked :)

Just seems Trek prices are on the rather high side.

Yea I guess. Thats the problem with these cheap bikes like nukeproof though, their warranty is an absolute nightmare, so in a way I dont mind paying over the odds. Specialized warranty is really good your right

Hoy Lee stuff arrived, shorts aren't what I expected. Proper thick, like motocross stuff. I'd imagine great for downhill but trail riding I'm not sure. Looks like I'll get toasty!

Anyone recommend thinner stuff?

The quality is outstanding though, unbelievable for the price really!

I can see this taking off big style!

Anyone got a setup guide for Pikes and Monarch shocks? I didnt manage to bottom out the front yesterday even on the lowest PSI for my weight. I cant find any settings for the rear shock so just adjusted it to 30% sag and im wondering if thats why I cant bottom out the front. Mucho appreciated team friends

Help, please :)

I got some indicative pricing for 1x11 upgrades for my Bird Zero.AM that's due to arrive soon.

SRAM X01 - ~£150
SRAM X1 - ~£270

I'm battling to understand why the X1 is more expensive if the X01 includes carbon cranks and and overall weighs a fair bit less. Have I missed something blindly obvious or has he got the prices switched around?

EDIT: SRAM X1 review.

Why do you want to bottom out the forks? I'm confused.

You have the fork on the softest high speed compression setting?
Think I'm 4 clicks in on low speed and 6 clicks from the hare on rebound. Running with the recommended pressure for 90kg (with all gear and water)

Off to watch Rampage now :)

Ill try that SDK we sound similar weights.

Rhys, they are 6 inch forks and im using 5 inchs of travel... Travels there to be used dude :p
