Does sound like a really loose chain.

If you can't figure out where the resistance is, I'd start by taking the rear caliper off to rule that out.

I've just tighten the chain and that's when the sticking started. Checked distances and the wheel is straight. Adjust same amount on either side and was fine before.

Pretty sure it is the calliper, I'll take it off this afternoon to check. As said it's only when the wheel rotates backwards, forwards is fine. Disc does have a bit of a lip on it.

Thanks all, I was pretty lucky. The bike needs new right rearset and mirror. Myself, when I was sliding on my back I felt like I was in bed (it felt soft lol). It was a strange feeling... I landed on my right side and that I felt after the adrenaline faded away a bit.

It's a bit of my fault too, there's loads of HGV that go through that roundabout, as it's nearby the motorway. I've seen loads of cars ending up in the field from losing control, I was leaning of the bike to keep it more upright. But diesel was all over the road, so not much I could have done apart from going slower (limit there is 60mph going into 50mph). :( I'll be back on the bike this week though! :)

Glad your okay though mate.

Diesel is all over the roads when coming into Doncaster as the are lorries everywhere with all the depots and such.

Thanks, there was still a bit of oil/diesel left over today, only on the edge. Yesterday there was loads of it, but because its a busy roundabout most of it is gone.

So the blue mark is roughly where I stopped sliding, the red circle is the area where the diesel is and the cross with the line is where I came off. You can see the mark on the kerb where the bike hit it and bounced up onto the grass.

Damage wise
-Bent crash bung
-Smashed bar end mirror
-Bent right rearset and slightly bent brake lever.

So had the calliper off and it's definitely that. Was properly gunked so cleaned it up but then noticed the dust seal coming out on half the piston

Then piston wouldn't budge back in so had to pop to halfwords for a proper piston tool which worked a treat and it's back together and not catching which is great.

Bad though as I need it rebuilt though. It's fine to ride with a dodgy dust seal temporary isn't it? Needs it MOT on Saturday too. It's been a pain in the **** recently this bike.

Could've been a lot worse mate, the bike was relatively unscathed! :)

Quite a bit of a slide I must admit, glad all is well with you though - things like this can't be helped. Something needs to be done about this sort of stuff, but I know nothing will change, at least for a while yet...

Take it easy man.

Yeah... I think I'm going to get a blow torch and try to bend the rearset back, 2nd hand rearset is aroudn 60 quid. If it snaps, then I'll have to but worth a try. Standard ugly chrome mirrors going on, I'll get it up and running this week. I'll most likely finish it tomorrow and take it for a test spin to make sure everything is as it should be. I'm going to ez off until warmer weather comes by, its just yesterday I went out and had such a good hoon. The tyres gripped and warmed up so well.

Anyone know where I can source a replacement rubber footing for the gear lever? The lever itself is fine, the rubber is just a bit knackered.

For an 06 ER6F

Take a look on here, part number 92161 is what you need i think? Doesn't say it's rubber though.

The footrest part is also a shocking £42, number 34028.

I went to have a look and a sit on one, a 1998 model, I reckon I'd fit. Didn't seem to be crazily leant forward either. I'll keep an eye out in the next few months, would need to sell my bike first though.
So another Honda of similar vintage has also gone on the 'possible' list. A pre-VTEC (1998-2001) VFR800. £2k for a decent one, higher miles at 40k seems the average but the'll go to the moon and back. Cheaper to insure, oh and they sound like this...:cool::D

Thanks. the jeans I had on were forcerider, gloves Weiss and the rest you can see the brand. :p Expensive stuff isn't always better, but the cheap stuff you need to research and buy something tested. :p
