BMW and M Power Owners

Swapping our 2006 E90 330i M Sport for a 2011 F11 520d M Sport later :) A bit annoyed to be going diesel for the first time, but there are so many more to pick from compared to the petrols!

Literally just traded my 2007 E92 330i Coupe... Shame to see it go, was utterly beautiful in Aegean Green. But honestly the brand new 435d in Tanzanite is easing the pain :D

I bet, a 435d sounds lovely  I will be very sad to see the 330i go! Its been a great car, wanted for nothing in 3.5 years and I've always enjoyed driving it. I could make do with the limited practicality but the Mrs is not happy dragging the pram out the boot and carry cot part of it from the back seat now we have an 8 week old baby.

Was originally looking at F31s but decided to go full nuclear with regard to space and up size!

You won't regret it, fully loaded my new one like you to match the old and its honestly superb. Total rocket already so looking forward to the new triple channel tuning box when it turns up soon...

Anyone have any experience of the E83 X3 engine bay, namely is there any awkward bulkhead blocking VANOS removal like I had on the Z4.

Brothers wife has one with the M54B25 and the valve gasket is leaking, so he's considering doing the VANOS o rings too.

My only experience is in the Z4 bay, which has a metal bulkhead maybe 4 inches or so from the front of the engine, making it an enormous pain to get the unit off once unbolted. Is there any obstruction similar in the X3? Looks like it's just a plastic cover and the fan?

Anyone here own a 4 series GC (F36)?

Looking at getting a 440i M Sport towards the end of the year, hopefully pick up a nice one for sub £30k.

Reviews seem to rate them highly but I would like to hear from people who have experienced them day to day.

Just had a letter from Mini Warranty (same company that provide the BMW extended warranty) saying that the monthly price is increasing due to the increased risk as the car ages.

I was under impression that the BMW/mini warranty cost was "locked in" if you chose the pay-monthly option?

£37.31 to £41.51 (2010 Mini Cooper, £100 excess, no emergency service)

Quite a big increase on an already expensive warranty. This is the older one that doesn't cover wear and tear.

Tempted to cancel it and put £40 in a pot each month. Or may cancel then take out a new one (£43.98) so at least I get the wear and tear cover for that higher monthly amount.

Would you recommend? :p

Yeah its a great car. :)
Fine in traffic/around town.
Fairly comfortable.
Plenty of room(family of 4 here)
Engine is great.
Quick.
Sounds ok when you give it some(doesnt sound amazing but pretty good).
Mpg ok if you take it easy on long trips(40 ish).

Mpg chart, just over a year 9000 miles. Averaging 23.83 MPG however my average daily mileage is 25 miles and is short trips around town. Would be considerably higher with a different usage pattern.

Now I know some folk are against 'mapping / tuning' on ocuk - and yes I realise the M4 has a decent amount of power and is 'quite quick enough'. But take a moment to think, OCUK, we are meant to tune up and overclock our PC's, so why not our cars :D

JB4 arrived today, picked up a 2nd hand one on cutters. Thinking is, install this weekend, circa 75bhp extra at the flick of a button / or using the app on the phone via bluetooth, and then when I'm done with the car I should get most of my money back for the unit. Had a JB3 way back on my 335i, so this is a similar idea. Certainly better value than a remap at a grand that I can't then sell on or just remove at a whim.

Also.... I still need to do a wee write up about the M4, the 2 months of ownership and my euro trip in it. Will upload pics and write this soon!
