BMW and M Power Owners

got the bmw carly device today and well impressed.
tried so much to get the ncs expert to work i know this can do a lot more deeper stuff but could not get that to work though my laptop although the inpa works fine.

codes lots with the carly and so so easy too.
it found 8 ecu's on the E90 which i am pretty sure that is them all.
it also found 3 errors on the alarm side which inpa did not find so cleared them and not come back.

Has anyone had any bluetooth streaming issues in their BMW using Android Oreo? I upgraded to Oreo on my OP3 but had to rollback to Nougat because Oreo bluetooth is ****. Apparently supposed to be better with the October security patch.

Nope. Although I rarely use BT and mostly just shove a 128gb memory stick loaded with songs in the USB slot.

I've found myself a suitable 330i to go take a look at, but before I do is there anything I should particularly be looking out for (it's a cab, which could be a bonus) and checking up on?

It's a 2010 plate under 50k miles, so it looks like the BMW Warranty would be affordable; is there anything I need to see from the car's service history (main dealer stamps, etc) for that purpose?

:( :( :(

2nd time in less than 2 months of ownership

Need to get some blessing or something done to my car before it takes me with it!

My new car warranty will expire in November 27. 535D Sport Auto with a lot of options. I am keeping the car for another year.
I never received an invite in the post about an extended warranty which I find a bit strange? I did use the online BMW warranty tool eight weeks ago and it quoted me a stupid cost of £1100+ for a year. I thought I'd wait for them to get hungry and send me a better offer but they haven't... :(
How would you guys play this?

How many miles has the car done?

I've never tried negotiating with BMW on warranty, but I sense it's a 'take it or leave it' offer.

34500 miles mate
When I phoned them up to enquire about the ludicrous figure eight weeks ago they said they do not negotiate and that the price is what it is and take it or leave it, pretty much. I thought they may have come down a bit when they saw that I'd "leave it" in the form of a revised quote in the post as the inception date loomed. But they havn't. I have not heard a sausage.

Wonder it is worth risking going out of warranty and seeing if they send me something then?

It costs £1107 (or £104 per month) with £100 excess and emergency cover.

It costs £855 (or £81 per month) with £250 excess and emergency cover.

So a very significant difference that would imply that people do indeed put in claims and the much higher cost of the £100 excess needs to be paid for by the much higher premium.

Since these cards are presumably reliable and I do not do monster mileages and I may not need to claim anyway (touching wood), I may go for the £250 excess option for the first year. I can review that after a year as the car gets older.

If I paid the £250 excess option in one payment it then amortises at £71 per month.

The price on the website is irrelevant if the car is already in cover. Call them and get a quote. You are seeing the new policy price there.

How did you manage to get a quote anyway? You usually can't if the car is already in cover.

And it didn't ask you for a PIN or anything?

That's really unusual.

If the car is under cover it either won't quote or will request your login name and PIN if its near renewal.

If it proceeds straight to the quote it's acting like the car doesn't currently have a warranty.

Phone them.
