BMW and M Power Owners

I get that, but I would still expect it to be a bit bigger inside than an F30 given the X1 seems to be reasonably close to it internally. So whilst it is F30 based it isn't quite just a jacked up 3, like you've mentioned

X1 is built on the 2 Series Active Tourer platform not the 3 Series. The X3 is the 3 Series based SUV. It's a bit more than just a raised up 3 Series (ie, it isn't like an A6 Allroad is to an A6) but it is F30 based.
I don't usually try and argue with you about BMW stuff but are you sure the new X3 is still on the F30 platform?

I bought an ISF to replace my M3.

Initial thoughts are the ride of the ISF is just too harsh compared to the M3.
The build quality and refinement of the ISF is ahead of the M3.
The gearbox in the M3 is good when pushing it, around town and slow speed/manoeuvring its not so good. The ISF gearbox seems to be good in almost all circumstances, the changes are great too.
The drivelogic settings in the M3 are great, the Lexus offers nothing similar.
The sound system in the Lexus is much better (I have the individual hifi in the M3), as is the engine note (Yamaha seem to do a good job).
Ergonomics in the M3 are a horror show, in my seating position it's entirely possible for me to be comfortable and not be able to see the entire top half of the speedo that includes the indicators. It really is very stupid. This lack of attention is reflected through a lot of the car really, small brake pedal when a large one could do, no dipstick for checking the engine oil level. No button to wash the headlamps, instead you must pull the wiper stalk a number of times. Tiny wing mirrors that you can barely see out of.

Ah yes, but how cheap is the IS-F to maintain? :p

*wind whispering* turrrrbooooo theeeee euuuunooos ;)

lol no :D it's a nice daily driver if I want it to be xD reliable and starts on the dot! only way I'd get it done is by a pro, I doubt I'd be able to get a reliable setup going my self.

The more I look the more I quite fancy swapping my Z4 for a E82 125i (with the 130i remap) or a 135i, Prices for them still seem to be quite strong though.

I have looked at them too, 135s look great in my opinion but I agree the prices are strong and I'd want a facelift too so 14-16k for one.

Buy a second hand kit from MX5Nutz on the Facebook page or forum, fit it yourself, and then just have it mapped. ;) There is a 220WHP full kit including turbo, IC, pipework, ECU, clutch, exhaust, and even a spare engine with some pretty parts on it, for 1500 ONO at the moment.

I'd want a later car, There's a beautiful looking red Sport Plus with DCT and most/every option ticked on AT for a nice rich price, I'm a manual person but wouldn't mind trying out the DCT to see if I like it would probably suit my Motorway commute better.

Would prefer it in White.

For that price i'm sure you can get a M135i

It’s worth considering the m140 as discounts at the moment are very strong. TRL seem to be doing the best deals.

The manual is an amazing box, I love being able to shift from 1>2>4>6 or 1>2>3>6. Can also cope with doing 35mph in 6th so you hardly ever have to change gear once on the move. They do get less mpg than the auto though so that’s worth considering.

The auto box is actually a single clutch but usage wise it feels like it’s dct.

that is a lovely spec! but I couldn't stomach the price tbf.. :/ I agree for that money you can get a 40-50k mile m135i, I wonder how reliable are they.. when do the turbos go, what other issues they have etc.. as they're still pretty new but common faults should have been identified by now.

You would think they would have fixed the Turbo issues with the M135i, Turbo issue have been from 2006, the M135i started life at 2012.

The M235i Is not far off that Sport Plus price I linked, Much prefer the coupe.
