BMW and M Power Owners

Specification is excellent, nav is rare on these and makes a big difference to the interior. Does seem expensive though?

Seems to be the going rate for these.

e.g. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201804135509423?postcode=mk22lq&maximum-mileage=60000&advertising-location=at_cars&exclude-writeoff-categories=on&aggregatedTrim=30i&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&radius=1500&model=Z4&year-from=2011&transmission=Manual&make=BMW&sort=datedesc&page=1

and that one doesn't even had iDrive..

This 2012 sold and it's priced higher.

Think I'll give them a call tomorrow, they're only 30 minutes away.

Similar price to the 28i manual. From my reading it seems the manual and 30i are a good match. Not sure if the 28i manual is the same, but I'm not reading many positive reviews on that gearbox.

It's really difficult to see what makes that worth around £4.5k more than it's px value - even if there are others at a similar value that is a fairly excessive mark up.

Are you talking about the one I linked that sold or the one for 15.7k?

The £15.5k car

Fair enough. I'm not sure how they arrived at the price, but it is the going rate for these.

I guess the question should then be, if these are poor value, is the 28i better value/alternative?

This 28i has higher miles but it is 1 year newer and 14k. Factor in that with approved used you get 12 month warranty worth 500. So the real difference is about 1k, 15k more miles a year newer.

Never driven one unfortunately, only the 3.0. Go ahead and drive both to see what you think. Soundtrack will be significantly different I imagine

I'd be more inclined to hold out for a private sale car and just pay for warranty on a monthly basis. There are a couple of 2010/2011 cars for £12-13k which seems a far more sensible kind of price

Thanks, I'll pop over and give this one a drive at least and keep an eye on what appears on AT.

How are the 30i (N52?) in these?

IMHO, yes, if you can get over the fact its a 4 pot not a 6 pot.

My Mum has a 20i, other than it's lack of power it's a great car and astonishingly efficient, it does over 45mpg on a Motorway run. The 28i is no more thirsty, costs no more to run and yet delivers a significantly greater amount of power - IMHO it's the best all round choice for the Z4.

Sadly the 28i is outnumbered by the 20i about 5 to 1, they are relatively uncommon.

But it's a 4 pot :(

Wow, that really is a lovely looking car. I usually hate white cars but that one really works for me, especially with the red interior. I don't know if it's just the photographs and artificial light making it look better or not, though. What a great shape, especially with the roof up. I really like these.

Im looking at one of these https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/201802053428356?location=Beverley HU17, UK&quoteref=3061ba89-2b7e-4434-9d9b-1a98ae62843e i think it might be a bit over priced (however its not been taxed for 3 months which im assuming is how long the dealers had it) so hopefully they want rid of it. Would it be cheeky offering 26?

That’s competition pack money. Which isn’t much better on paper but the suspension,EDC and MDM mode are much better.

I had a look on the bmw site, and i cant see any comp pack e92 cars. I'm off to test drive tomorrow (when i booked it on wednesday the guy wanted me to view it that afternoon) so i think/ hope they will be up for some negotiation.

We will be test driving both anyway.

The 30i I originally linked has already sold. I think we are going to wait until closer to November to buy one anyway, but in the meantime if a local one pops up we can test drive it.

I'm considering a 328i as our family car too, but need to look at funds. They look like a good package, and well priced.

It will be an N53 IIRC. Direct injection; good on fuel and pack a punch, but have some direct injection issues such as high pressure pumps and injectors.
