BMW and M Power Owners

Very specific question here but someone may know. Is it possible to plug in 2 usb devices at once using a USB hub, and have them both visible to select as a media source via iDrive?

Main reason is I have my music on a USB stick, wife has hers on another so have to keep swapping them. To be able to select via iDrive would be great. I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work with a USB hub I have, it just recognises whichever USB stick it sees first and ignores the other one. I’ve seen comments online saying this works, but never any specific details or a screenshot to back it up.

Just put one set of music on the HDD?

New 8 Series looking very classy indeed! Have put one on the dream list.

£76,270 for the 840d, £100,045 for the M850i.

The range-topping M850i xDrive features a 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 523bhp with 554lb ft of torque available between 1800rpm and 4600rpm. It can achieve 0-62mph in 3.7sec, with a limited top speed of 155mph.

The rear end is a shambles. It ruins the design of the entire car for me. The interior doesn’t look a patch on an S Class coupe.

I just generally don’t warm to modern BMW’s design language so I’m not surprised.

Not my thing... and still annoyed that they renamed the 6 series to the 8 series... but I'll get over it.

I'm not sure why they stole the steering wheel & gear selector from Jaguar and stuck a BMW badge on it...

For MSRP... the competition is far far too strong... it's bordering on Aston Vantage money.

The S class is a pile of poo though...

They didnt, it is a whole new car built to a higher standard at a higher price point.

The S-Class comment, the W222/C217 is widely regarded as the best in its class.

I cracked out the old NCS Expert yesterday and set about coding some stuff on the 6-Series. I forgot how easy this stuff is TBH.
I turned off cold and hot monitoring of the halo lights (I've got LEDs in there and they throw an error).
I turned on the M6 HUD which shows RPM and current gear rather than just speed and nav. Much more useful.
I turned on turn signal tell tales in the HUD which is very useful as the steering wheel blocks my view of the ones on the dash.

Wallowy boat, not that comfy... interior looks ok but is a bit tacky to the touch... was a late 16 / early 17 model I had.

7 series is a much better option.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you cannot be more consistently and repeatedly wrong about cars. Wallowy boat, it’s a limousine ffs and no the 7 series is not a much better option. The S class is and has been the segment leader for good reason.

Don't think I've heard anyone say the 7 is better than the S-Class. It's one car Merc produce that is pretty much consistently a class leader.

The 7 series inside is almost identical to the 5 series... I'd take an S class personally
I'd also take an A8 over an S class but I'm a bit biased in that respect :p (although the new one does look like a bigger A6!)

I have a guy on the Instagram that I’ve recently followed. His f80 m3 has suspected bottom end knock so he took it into Lancaster bmw. They checked the oil and it had metal swarfe.

Engine replacement apparently 25k. Bmwuk are saying no to replacement from their own pocket as he had a pipercross replacement panel filter and the secondary cats have been removed. They say this has caused the issue.

He’s had to contact a solicitor as they’re dragging their heels but surely this couldn’t contribute and something internal has failed. Car is in warranty too.

Jeez that sucks, did he only have the panel filter and cats removed, or was he running a remap/piggyback ecu or something?

Which lancaster was it, BurySE by any chance?

I’m not sure. Lancaster are happy to do the work but bmwuk are the ones denying it. As far as I’ve read it’s just panel filter and secondary cats. No mention of mapping.

He has warranty and deviated from OEM ? Brave.

BMW were looking for a way to get out of paying £25,000 and he gave them a perfect opportunity. All for a crap air filter which we all know does nothing, and to make the car a bit nosier.

Bet it was mapped too.
