BMW and M Power Owners

Generally find f33s look horrible with roof up. Would bug me.

As for 430/440 depends on if you value the extra performance....
In a nutshell, my old man misses owning his own car since he sold his 535i GT last year. He's clearly reminiscing about his younger years when he had a Vitesse convertible and MGB, etc :p
Anyway it'll be kept outside hence the hardtop. We found a fully loaded 430i in Snapple Rock blue with blue leather and I think he's smitten. He'll never use the performance of the 440i, and the GT cost €3k pa in tax and insurance alone so the 2.0 is clearly more sensible. Buying a 4-pot BMW is just sacrilege though :(

Nothing screams midlife crisis more than this :D

How long does it usually take to get a response from BMW regarding warranty claims?

I took my car to local dealer on the 26th June for seat staining issues and paint flake off the front bumper. Chased them last Wednesday and I told a cope of days and still no word on whether the claims are to be honoured.

Bit of a poor show IMO. Not sure if it's an issue with the dealer or BMW.

I will be test driving the below today.

It's now been reduced to a more reasonable price, which should cost me no more than £9k with the trade in.

This is the other car I'm considering:

https://www.gssgarage.co.uk/used-bmw-5-series-harrow-middlesex-1666967

Pros:
1) 12 months BMW Approved Used warranty
2) Very local to me (in case of any issues)
3) Lower price (by £700 without any negotiations)
4) Harman Kardon against BMW Advanced audio
5) Electric sunroof
6) Fresh MOT (under new rules)
7) Full firmware/software update (probably)
8) 3 months newer (Jul '15 vs Apr '15)

Cons:
1) Higher mileage - an extra ~8000 miles
2) No HUD
3) No electric seats
4) Worse colour combo (arguably)
5) Could be other options missing that aren't listed

Other than that, they're fairly similar spec wise.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd probably go for the AUC car. In the event of any warranty claims or more importantly non-warranted items, BMW are much more likely to offer goodwill. Also, I quite like Carbon Black, it's black with a blue metallic 'flake' to it. It looks great in the sunshine. Black leather is very practical, as I reminded myself while having had to scrub my Silverstone leather seats this weekend!

That AUC car has been in stock since the beginning of April. You might be able to get a good deal on it, if they are just about to rotate it out of stock...

I've had a couple of cars with HUD. It's nice to have but you can live without it. I'd rather have the Harman Kardon than HUD. As already said, all the F10s have part-electric seats, although I am not sure if the fore and aft movement is electric (maybe I'm getting confused with the E60 though). The upgrade gives you memory.

If you can get the last seven digits of the VIN for each car, type it in BMWVIN . com and you'll get the full build spec. On the independent seller car they might have missed a couple of options. BMW will probably have it correct, but it is worth checking.

I have my radio on at a decent level, just nice to listen to, when I switch to Bluetooth streaming it is very quiet even with the phone on full volume so I turn it up in the car....The problem starts when I go back to the radio and forget to turn it down again.

Is there a way to set different volumes for different sources? I've looked but found nothing so far, sorry if this is an obvious one that I'm missing something daft on.

No and welcome to the world of BMW! I queried this when I first got my 3 series as I found the levels for the MP3s I was playing was significantly lower than say the radio. When I booked it in they started asking me crap like am I using an approved pen drive etc... In the end they admitted that the audio system does not remember individual volume levels. I ended up re doing the gain levels to 95dB which closely matches the volume level of the radio so when switching I'm no longer being deafened.

Cheers for the reply, Nice solution but unfortunately I'm streaming from spotify. Sometimes I get a hell of a fright when I switch back, I guess I'll just have to stop being so forgetful and turn it down.

Would using an amp on the phone help any or is it just the bluetooth level that is throwing it off? I found a setting on the iPhone for "Sound Check" mentioned on a Tesla forum, I'll give that a try tonight on the way home.
