BMW and M Power Owners

Not even the dealer could get the stain off. The staining occurred before my ownership.
Just a shame I didn't notice it before buying.

If wearing jeans in a BMW with light leather is user error then I've learnt a lesson. Guess I just expected a better quality of product from BMW.

Washing two colours together isn't really the same though is it?

The leather should be able to resist being stained.
We bought a white leather sofa a while back and had to sign a disclaimer on the warranty protection form that we understood dark colour dyes from clothing would transfer to the cushions.

Might also be a case of new jeans not being washed, and being worn for the first time when it's raining:confused:. That said Ive not come across anything baby wipes couldn't remove from my (admirably black) leather sofa.

And it probably is. And yes, actually, it's very similar. It's hot at the moment, your sweaty gooch is perspiring against warm seats where the natural oils in the leather are excreting. It's near on the perfect storm for dye transfer. However, I have had both beige leather, and silverstone leater (which is about as white as you can get) and both times I've had ingrained stains, it's come out with nothing more than leather cleaner and a nailbrush.
I have the Opal White leather in mine, and it does pick up colour even from old jeans, but as you say a wipe down/light scrub with either some leather cleaner or well diluted APC gets it clean again.

Is it me or have 6 series coupes and gran coupes taken a huge nose dive in price?

They always have as the retail price for them is ridiculous, which of course no one ever pays (unless you dont try to haggle) as there are huge discounts on them. That hits residuals big time.

When I bought my two year old one, it was virtually half price from its full retail, specced up on the BMW configurator.

Indeed. Some guy did a spreadsheet and talked it through on YouTube; he'd concluded that a 2 year old 640d GC was a better deal/lower cost of ownership than a brand new M140i over a three year period (having had a couple of M135i in a row) on PCP.

He based this on buying the 640 at £25k, then added in two years of BMW Insured Warranty to make it as like for like as possible. I forget what the 5 year residual value was on the 640, and he might have even done a low interest rate bank loan for the 25k thus hence holding the risk of GFV himself. But all the same it was an interesting comparison.

That's the new customer price, call BMW warranty.

Turns out I twiddled my thumbs too long and I'm now outside the grace period for renewal as an existing customer :(. I moved house last month and it all got lost in the shuffle, bugger.

A tough decision, will I really need ~1500 of repairs over 2 years / 12k miles? I suppose the issue is that although on the whole the later cars seem more reliable it only takes one thing to go wrong to wipe that out.

I'm thinking the same thing for my F11. It's warrantied until September and it'll cost a small fortune to renew it.

Surprise, surprise, the dealer has denied that they caused the damage to my headlight citing that too much time has passed and that due to this it wouldn’t be possible to determine if the damage was caused during that time?

I asked how they have determined the extent and cause of the damage without even wanting to see the car?

Can I raise this with bmw if I get nowhere with the dealer?

I'm going to look at a 08 125i and the guy says the engine undertray is slightly damaged from speed bumps. I've tried looking to see how much they are, but can't find one for this particular model. Anyone know the correct name or part number for it?
