BMW and M Power Owners

are they keeping the software on these current with the 2023/lastest tiled android auto updates ?
at £300+ pounds - the MOST interface still leaves the bottleneck of sending audio through the android phones audio mixer, before it get transmitter wirelessly
versus a dac/amp (eg. recently discussed match up 7 bmw system discussed in what I did to my car)
with which you can send perfect bitstream from your phone, or ....... just put the media on a usb thumb drive directly into HU

[ the mr12volt web site is confusing/wrong
Additional Technical Data:
Operating Temperature: -20 - +80 degree centigrade
DAC resolution: 18Bit
why is a dac needed if the system has digital audio/MOST throughput
]

I couldn’t tell you if the software will remain up to date, but they have done a good job of keeping them up to date so far.

I believe the DAC is if you’re using it for analogue output instead :-)

Hey all,

I have the liquid funds to purchase either a 435D Xdrive or 440i in the gran coupe variant. Both demand around 20-25k.

I'm currently swaying towards the 435D Xdrive version. I want the off the line grunt and 4wd action more than the petrol engine sound.

Both are similar in price and identical in power really.

Anyone here an owner of either? What are your thoughts?

I'm looking for one with the cockpit, heads up display, HK, adaptive suspension and other more basic extras. Oh and has to be blue... heh.
Not easy to find the perfect one but I'm still looking :)

It is worth knowing that the 435d will handle differently to the 440i. xDrive cars on this platform have, as far as I can remember, the standard suspension and not the M Sport suspension which you'll find on a 440i (Or even a 420i!).

I've found one that shows as M Sport Plus with M Sport Suspension. Shall I presume that this is incorrect?

Certainly good advice, I didn't know this when I brought mine. Still handles well but always in the back of my mind it could be better.
Currently looking at at AC Snitzer suspension upgrade.

B58 is quite efficient. Not sure I’d ever be wanting to sink 25k into a Diesel.

B58 + 2WD will be close on a run compared to the 35D and 4WD

Best thing to do is drive both and see how you feel.

Nose on the Diesel also feels heavier when going round corners.

Can someone tell me how you access these buttons down the side of the satnav?

I’ve literally tried every button and nothing lets me select them?

Car has pro nav so not sure why I can’t access them.

If you shift the iDrive controller to the left you will be able to scroll up and down those options.

B58 is a superb engine.

If you want off the line grunt and want to beat people at traffic lights, and an unparalleled all weather ability then get a Golf R.

If you want a dynamic and engaging drive, don’t buy a diesel X Drive.

I own a 440i GC with the performance and sound kit. Can't compare it to a 435d x-drive as I've never owned one.

All I can say is that it's a very nice engine.
I've always owned cars with adaptive suspension - so on my list of non-negotiables
MPG on motorway is approx 40-42. If I hypermile and if traffic allows, can hit 50mpg - all on a 3L petrol! Impressive really.
Change the mode to sport and when the valves open...car is a different beast altogether.

I've got all of those including the adaptive LEDs (but not the digital dials - hard to find).
Just to say that if you're not getting the adaptive LEDs then just stick to the xenons.
The non adaptive LEDs are actually dimmer than the xenons!

My 330e Msport Touring got delivered the other day.

My goodness it’s MEGA. The ability to pop about for 25-30 miles on leccy is fantastic but the transition to xtraboost is hilarious - managed a considerably lower 0-60 time than the ‘advertised’ figures lol

I adore this thing and it looks brilliant (Msport Pro Pack, 19inch black alloys and the associated bells and whistles).

I’m just terrified of other road users, supermarket car parks and parking close to the pavement now.

Never had a BMW before.

I ‘get it’ now.
