BMW and M Power Owners

M340i(M3) MHT owners - so what settings are you using for the (apparently) default adaptive suspension they have, on our UK roads - are you now converted to adaptive
Same as Fox, Comfort most of the time and Sport Individual when I want to have a bit of fun - but my individual still has suspension in Comfort.

Yep this is what most people do. Keep comfort suspension even in sports mode because our roads are rubbish

My M3 is all in comfort apart from throttle which is in full send due to it opening the exhaust valves.

I’m not sure comfort is a suitable term for the suspension. Perhaps it’s comfortable compared to falling down the stairs, but I wouldn’t use that term to describe the ride quality. Sport or Sport Plus are pure comedy and would only be suitable for track.

It should be renamed to “not as uncomfortable”

I don't think it's that bad, at least once I'd changed the tyres. It was unacceptable on the original tyres, but now I am happy with the ride quality. It isn't as soft as the 5 Series but neither would you expect it to be.

The 3 series is decent but I found the F80 M3 I've driven with adaptive suspension to still be quite firm by comparison, even in "comfort"

Drove an i4 recently and I thought that felt really compliant and soft in comfort.

Believe it uses NFC. Could be a glitch on OPs phone.

@CliffyG did you try turning your phone off and back on?
Restarted the phone, signed in and out of the My BMW app, reinstalled the My BMW app. Tried using the second sim in my phone for data and then the wifi in my gym. Just span every time i clicked unlock and used my fingerprint, somtimes there was an error sending to the vehicle, other times it just span some more.

And then when you came back to it, it just worked?

That's super strange, and I would DEFINITELY raise it with BMW as it could cause some massive headaches

Did you park the car somewhere differently/odd? The car needs mobile phone signal for it to work too.

Still rocking my P Zeros for 15k, they've still got loads of tread too!

Yep. I didn't get round to it today but will tomorrow. Just call the number on the app?

Nope same place I always do, right outside my gym in the middle of Cambridge.

There's a couple of ways you can use your phone to unlock the car, either within the app (which will need some kind of mobile signal) or using the NFC chip, which just requires your phone to have some juice. Have you registered your phone as a digital key? Whilst its a bit fiddly it does mean you aren't at the mercy of the mobile reception.

I didn't know you could do that. Does that let you drive it without the actual key too?

Edit
Actually doesn't look like an option for me. Can't find anything about it in the app.

Collected the 440i.

Couple of issues:
1. Passenger side front bumper, clearly had some repair and paint. Poorly repaired too and paint has runs. I'll be getting that sorted. Knocked him down on the price a little to aid that.
2. Android auto was advertised as being on the car. Turns out only apple car play is on it. Can't code it in as its an F series.
He paid for the £500 retro fit box for me to install to get android auto. Collecting it tomorrow from local seller.
Also... the apple car play must be a retrofit box, as the stock GPS doesn't function due to it. So might be something I can sell on, if so, that covers the fix on the bumper.
3. Small scuff on rear bumper. Nothing bad, doesn't warrant me getting it smart repaired.

That's about it.

Managed 39.9mpg on the 3hr drive home. Traffic was a pain, the stop start works well.

I very much like the car, great spec.

I'll keep it as it is untill the 6 months warranty from the dealer is up, then bung the BMW warranty on and a BootMod3 map

Happy days.
