BMW and M Power Owners

Doing that now, and how does the servicing work after, main dealer suffice or a local BMW Specialist (Which I see we have in my home town)

Never brought where I can't drive to (If that makes sense)

I don't find specialists to offer a significant enough saving to be worth it, so I use the main dealer. You can service it at any main dealer, you don't need to go to the one you purchased the car from.

So you're going to be looking at 2017-2020 cars, so realistically you won't find many with mileage less than about 40k anyway.

There is no Pro Pack on these, instead there is an M Sport Plus Pack. This adds wheels that are too large for the car, tinted windows and an upgraded audio system.

For me, the essential packages on a 530d of this generation would be the Technology Pack for the head up display and Visibility package, nice to have would be the Comfort package.

My wife bought this for my Xmas present

I'll install it next week when off work. Will finally be able to charge my phone wireless in my car.

Why do you want a diesel for only 10k a year?

Because it's probably the best engine in that car at that money?

I did less than that in my 530d - it was used almost entirely for longer journeys and it was quiet, smooth, comfortable, efficient and the performance was excellent. It was a perfectly suited engine for the car and the one in the newer 5 Series is even better.

And if it were used for frequent shorter journeys then it’s more likely to develop issues.

Sure if it only ever does short trips from cold but your annual mileage would be far less than 10k if you only did that. If he does 10k a year it is likely his usage is a mix of journey types.

I had it 7 years (and another 530d for 2 years before that) and not a single thing ever went wrong with either of them. It was a great engine and there are still some aspects of it which I miss.

Not overly enamoured with the body styling if I’m honest….
hatches so family/diy/holiday friendly - in that respect not sure why people buy saloons -maybe if I needed a 2nd car -
I'd think longer term residuals vs 5 series are also better for that reason, mechanical similarity to 5, given.
