BMW and M Power Owners

damn must be having another special offer or something...mine was from costco too
just had a look at my receipt...£489 inc fitting

and also just had a look at the website, they don't seem to be stocking the A6 for the fronts any more, else i'd have cancelled and reordered lol

They were doing £100 off 4x 19 inch when ordered. Didn’t need them ASAP so pushed install out as far as I could

Something I very much wish the original buyer specified when he bought it, especially on the -6'C mornings I've experienced in the past couple of weeks. I assume you do have the button on the column?
Don't need it with the new Idrive, same with my focus it's controlled through the touchscreen now, I guess it means that they can go forward with this subscription model that seems to be the rage

This 440i is starting to annoy me.

Had all the leaks fixed. Engine oil tested and no issues.

Now... when I'm accelerating on the Mway... the whole car vibrates. Can feel it through steering wheel and the cabin.

I don't feel it at all on normal town driving...

Would this be a side effect of a bad gearbox oil service?

Engine has zero vibration when in neutral. Only when on the Mway and accelerating from 50 onwards.

No codes at all :/

Anyone got any clue?
Sparks are recent, injectors are recent too.

Does it shake through the steering wheel? Could be wheel balancing. Doubt it's gearbox service related.

Alternatively rear diff
That's the thing. Even at 80 the wheel is not vibrating. Until, i put my foot down.
As soon as I give it Power, the vibration starts, until I let off.

The rear diff was installed by BMW a few months ago. An MPerformance LSD rear diff. So that is under warranty if needed. I'd like to diagnose it before I hand it to BMW though. Lol

Vibration under acceleration can be a wheel balancing issue too. However, I only have experience of that in a FWD car :/
I'll pop to the garage next to work and have them do an alignment. Thankfully they have a Hunter. And have them balanced

Lol. If its transmission related, it's being px against a tesla. Haha
Hopefully just something simple as mentioned, perhaps a wheel weight has fell off. When I first picked up my mustang from the dealer around the doors it was fine, got onto motorway and it was shaking and vibrating and I felt it worse though the seat. Thought straight away it was the driveshaft. Turns out it was just wheel balancing. :)

Like it or hate it, I collected my facelift M340i this week.
Haven’t had much chance to drive it as I’m recovering from bronchitis, but it’s lovely to have a sunroof and adaptive cruise!

If you had lasers you’ll miss them - I don’t think the adaptive lights on the facelift are quite as good.

Great colour though.

Replaced the H&R springs with Eibachs to soften it up a little and raise the front a few mm. haven’t tested yet as the new ARB links are too short. Seems I got sent the non M3 versions for my E92

Failed MOT on a split rubber on the link

I bought BMW connected drive booster package a few days ago in the mistaken belief this would also give me a map update. It says on the BMW site that the connected booster package can offer one package for navigation, information and comfort, so I thought this included the extra benefits like Alexa in addition to the map update. My fault for getting confused I guess

I noticed my maps hadn't updated automatically and after logging in I see a map update is still available to buy. So am I right in saying I still need to pay for the map update? I actually am not fussed about the booster package as all I ever wanted was the map update. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a refund on the booster package or am I out of luck and just need to suck it up and buy the map update if I want it? Thanks

Yeh that’s the only downside, I haven’t driven it properly in the dark yet to comment though.

The two things I noticed personally were:

  1. A dark band between low and high beam, where it seems the two weren’t aligned properly
  2. Lack of extended light output that I grew so used to with the lasers

They’re not horrific though and much better than the lights on the F30 still.
