BMW and M Power Owners

The integration with the car is much nicer, shows up on HUD etc.

I’ve generally found BMW nav to be OK, but it’s far from perfect.

I don’t normally pay for map updates every year, just the Booster Package and Speed Cameras.
Out of interest, what do you use in the Booster Package?

Real Time Traffic Info (RTTI)
Remote 3D View (not that often)
Automation (like auto heated seat etc)
Now and again the weather and news fuctions

RTTI is the reason most people have it, I expect.

Neighbour got himself a new M3 Touring recently. Looks mega, but just heard the cold start earlier this morning and it sounds absolutely pathetic :(

My maps are a few years old. I'd also need RTTI to be anywhere near the level of Google/Waze. I don't think the extra HUD integration on an F series car is worth it for the £150 or whatever it costs to get both for a year, when I can get it for free on my phone and have it full screen.

In other news, I bought Apple CarPlay for the M2 as it's -20% currently. OMG WHY TF didn't I do this sooner?
Mine doesn't have DAB and I was getting annoyed with the poor FM choices. Also using my phone for satnav was annoying me too. Happy I saved £50 but should've done it when I bought the car 6 months ago

What do people think about the 300hp clubman? I see some lower mileage cars around 25k (and some genuine dealer cars that are absolute rotters around 22).

Will mostly be used for a motorway commute/single occupancy and the occasional kid ferrying.

Clubman is a decent car. Not sure I’d bother with the 300 BHP version for ferrying kids though.

I think you’re in the wrong thread ;)

Same floor plan and engines as the 1 series, just bigger.

even w/o carplay can still use cabled usb from iphone to access any internet radio station (players like vlc)
test match special excepted/rip

You need to buy CarPlay in order to activate it. Previous owner didn't specify DAB and I didn't want to mess around with Spotify all the time.
CarPlay works well and the F87 has a touchscreen so it's perfect. Also extremely useful for Maps, etc,

I can't purchase Carplay through the online store at all on mine. Not too bothered as I have a Samsung anyway

Are BMW head office usually responsive? As mentioned previously in this thread, i've had an i5 M60 Touring ordered since March, it arrived in the country on 22nd July and has been sat at Vertu in Sunderland since then waiting for the brake system and steering spindle recall to be carried out. I've spoken to Vertu and my lease company and all they can say is they are waiting for parts and they have escalated with BMW to try to get a date for the parts to become available. Wondered if an email direct to BMW UK would help speed things up or do they just go into a black hole of nothingness. Have to say, it's my first time ordering a BMW (can't even say first time owning/using one yet...) and it's not been the best experience of my car ownership life...

the older f30 I nearly bought had, (copying) 'Enhanced Bluetooth Telephone Preparation with USB Audio Interface and Voice Control'
which I tested with usb audio from iphone music player apps .
I also tried apple/google/waze maps and frankly none have ability to just programme 'exact' routes you regularly take and know are the best route, to be able to hand/link to friends,
I've not tried the native maps though.
