BMW and M Power Owners

I'm getting tempted to look at the m performance suspension again for the M2, price of the kit isn't the issue, it's the face that it moves my £750 for two car insurance to something near £2k.

M performance suspension and 513m alloy setup. I never had a problem with my 135i Birds kitted out car, suspension and quaife LSD.

Quite like the interior of the new M2 and always have a nice poke around the M2 CS that Snows have in, it's Steven Snows' he's got quite a collection.

I can't purchase Carplay through the online store at all on mine. Not too bothered as I have a Samsung anyway
Ah, perhaps it doesn't have the necessary hardware then. Not familiar with Android Auto but perhaps that wasn't available at the time?
the older f30 I nearly bought had, (copying) 'Enhanced Bluetooth Telephone Preparation with USB Audio Interface and Voice Control'
which I tested with usb audio from iphone music player apps .
I also tried apple/google/waze maps and frankly none have ability to just programme 'exact' routes you regularly take and know are the best route, to be able to hand/link to friends,
I've not tried the native maps though.
I believe it needs that option in order to enable CarPlay, which mine also has (perhaps as standard?) which is why no DAB wasn't a deal-breaker.
The latest BMW satnav is great, but the older ones (this one is 6 years old) are pretty crappy, even more so without RTTI (sod paying for that).

I find Google Maps pretty good and reporting times so I can modify my commute if need be. Apparently Apple Maps is excellent, but I've never used it. YMMV, etc.

for the options I never found out how you get a categoric list of the options on a bmw you are considering ?
I had looked at the years price list and seen their identifiers, but never found how you interrogate the car.

perhaps it's where I live but below was an example of the s*** that google maps comes up with, I'd like to know if there are commercial apps (scania probably uses)
where you can specify A roads only.

an example of it's stupid route choice - took me N->S on the right hand windy route on rubbish roads not the A road on left

Probably a daft question but thought someone on here might know. Sytner sent me an email saying my extended warranty is due soon and I can extend with a Sytner extended warranty. Is that the same as the BMW extended warranty or is it their own offering?

Yes BMW do their own option and I pay about £110-120 per month and have done for since 2020, I've prob claimed £10k over the years and have kept it on as the M cars are known to have diff seal issues.

i wouldn't trust Sytner, the BMW one you can take anywhere. Reason why I mention re Sytner is when I looked at a car via them they were trying to upsell warranty and after being pressed it was their own product and not BMW.

BMW UK Warranty

Same here. I would imagine that you have to take the car to Sytner, where the BMW one will allow you to use any BMW dealer?

That doesn’t sound like the BMW warranty - could you post a screenshot of the email?

I’d stick to the official BMW one if you can, these dealer ones won’t be as good.

Sorry cant at the moment as Im at work but understandable it may not be as good if its a dealer one. Will hold out until BMW send me a renewal notice. Thanks guys

I've been looking at this M340i and the specs look great:

Black is a bit boring compared to something like Oxide grey but I can't find a decent equivalent.

Is the price fair for it? Included warranty and being recently serviced should mean relatively low running costs for the next year.

I don’t think that’s a bad price from a dealer for that spec, mileage is perhaps a tad high for the price but with warranty and a recent service I think it’s fair.
I just sold mine privately for £31.5k with a slightly lower spec and lower mileage.

Cross post from 'what have you done to your car today'.

One thing that's always irked me is the piano black trim from the factory. The carbon trim is much nicer, albeit very expensive. Found used but excellent condition bits on Facebook, only a few more to finish it off. Very happy, carbon is much nicer and adds a finishing touch to the interior. Just need the DCT and handbrake trim now.

Crap black trim should come with PPF from the bloody factory or removed from all options list, infact they should give you money to have it! lol

I changed all mine to carbon as I hate all other versions, rather silver. The worst bit in my F13 was the crap black rubber trim under the instrument binnacle, I had it made in carbon so it matches the rest or the trim, when I asked my detailer about it he thought it was OEM.......OCD FTW! :D

Have you got carbon paddes ChrisD. ?

no one has any feedback on ensuring google maps takes you on a sensible route ?
I subsequently discussed with neghbour 330/71plate on on how sensible the native bmw app is - he travels for his job - and said that can take you off through the weeds too.

No mate, not even sure if BMW did them?

But yeah, piano black is not great, shows up the smallest bit of dirt and marks very easily.

Not sure got mine from China half the price people are selling them over here, I prefer them as they are slightly longer than the puney BMW ones.

Auto trader has it as a good price/average market value.
