BMW and M Power Owners

@ChrisD. How much did it cost to get that fitted, if you don't mind me asking. Or if you did it yourself, how bad was it? I've been tempted to replace the piano black awfulness on my 240. I've found a matte carbon set for £820 which I'd be happy to pay at this point.
It took about 15-20 minutes to fit. The drivers side vent was 20 seconds. The centre console bit was under 5 minutes, there's three Torx screws that hold the iDrive control in place. The dash took about 10-15 minutes as there are two electrical connectors and they are quite fiddly to undo/redo (especially in the cold!), and refit the trim. I'd strongly advise trim removal tools and a towel or similar to avoid any kind of marks to the interior. Do not pay someone!

After thinking about getting an M135i/M140i at some point in the next few months, I've unexpectedly ended up in a 435D! Liking the performance and mix of comfort/speed, but amazed at how bad the base stereo sound quality is compared to my 20 year old Volvo! Unsure how long term it'll be as saving for a house at the moment, but couldn't say no at the price....

Will try get some pictures sometime when the weather isn't crap

I've been thinking of getting an M135i again as a bit of a toy but I don't know if I can be dealing with the poor BMW ness of it again. It's just not a great BMW overall, the gearbox and engine are a peach but the rest of it pales in comparison.

You've made a better choice, I'd say.

Good to have some feedback! Not got much experience in the 1 series, been in a mates M140i a few times and driven an M135i briefly on track - mostly about the engine and gearbox as you say. This seems a nice all-rounder so far (although the long doors are a pain!).

Rubbish quick photo from earlier...

Added an MMI box thing the other day to get Android Auto, isn't perfect but it's nice and easy to switch between the systems and it does work well.

I added an MMI box to my 435d this week. The touchscreen dosn't work in android auto but if you do touch the screen it seems to interact with wherever you left the iDrive. Mine was on my contacts and I called my accountant this morning at 07:30. Twice :D

Do you have any details on the box you got?
I have no AA / CarPlay in mine, kind of used to it but would be a nice to have still, however it is warrantied so not sure what will happen on that front

:D Mine's only NBT so no touch screen, sounds like an advantage in this case!

Got to try spending some time and see if I can get things coded so that the seat will move back to make it easier to get in and out, also needs a good polish - had a go at the bonnet the other day and found the paint a lot harder than what I'm used to, should be good when done though.

Cross post from 'what have you done to your car today'.

One thing that's always irked me is the piano black trim from the factory. The carbon trim is much nicer, albeit very expensive. Found used but excellent condition bits on Facebook, only a few more to finish it off. Very happy, carbon is much nicer and adds a finishing touch to the interior. Just need the DCT and handbrake trim now.

Leather dash next? :) Not as quick a job!

I got it from Bavarian Automotive. Think it was £280 delivered. There's different versions depending on what Idrive/car you have.

Well that's the first year service done and dusted. Took 2 hours so went for a wander and had a coffee. Had a peruse around some nice X5's and X7's on the forecourt. Opted to get the air con sanitised as well. But that'll be it, as the car will be switched up in Feb for the M240. Was also pleased the dealer had a car in the showroom in the Thundernight paint so I finally got to see the colour in the flesh and it was lush. :)

Picked up this beast today,

5 months old 24 plate, 1300 miles on the clock - M4 Comp xDrive, ultimate pack, etc, etc.

Collected it from a main dealer this morning, absolutely fallen in love with it - I was skeptical about how much I'd like it, in the taxi on the way there - I'd not seen this specific one in the flesh, I'd driven a few others - but saw this one come up, very young 1 owner hardly any miles and I loved the colour. 1 hour in I'm grinning like a cheshire cat, it's absolutely ******* flies! It's so nice to drive, absolutely love it.

I was originally thinking on an M5 (even had a go in the new one, which I didn't like much), found them a bit dull and just 'meh' I found the M4 to be just pure awesomeness.

Drove it 90 miles back from the dealer earlier, and took my dad out in it - he nearly **** himself :D gonna go find somewhere quiet in it later, so I can setup all the presets, figure out all of the gizmos and other bits, :D

Between these two, which would be better?

+ Great spec
+ BMW Approved Used so warranty included and whatever else I can convince them to add
+ MHT
+ Local
- Find the black kinda dull but may just need a detail

+ Fully loaded! (Don't like the black alloys but still...)
+ Cheaper and slightly lower milage
- Not from BMW
- Non-MHT

it has had 4 owners ? would need a strong supporting story ... although the bmw used car doesn't seem to say how many owners (real 'real' leather though)

The BMW approved one had a single owner.

This comes up for the one with 4 owners (is this a concern?):

my theory
3y9m = 1st owner that traded in before 48 mth term up
2m = bca
7m is the kicker, so i would've thought that car has been on sale for the last 7 months without a buyer
