BMW and M Power Owners

Ok well ignoring the why you bought it bits and pieces....

Coils - pointless

Tensioner-wouldnt a 2004 car have the revised one anyway? If so pointless unless you're getting rattle

Well its a late 53 plate and from my research if the head of the tensioner is 15mm tall then its the old style which mine has the larger head. Not noticed a rattle but wanted to change it for piece of mind.

Sorry to keep going on but wow if you just bought a UK car in Germany.
Anyway, good luck with it, hope it's not a lemon.

It may sound a weird thing to do but I would say 95% of serving personnel over here drive UK cars. Tax free cars are bought into Germany then after a year or 2 taken back to the UK to be sold for basically the same price they were bought for. Some are kept for longer though and sold to other squaddies like mine.

Just not a lot of e46's around. Was looking at a 330ci but it had 20k more miles was 2 years older and £1k more expensive. He also wanted to keep it till the new year which we wanted a car before xmas.

Only awkward part of it is overtaking but normally have a passenger to help.

Would something like this be fine along with some Castrol Edge synthetic motor oil SAE 5W-30?

MW 3 SERIES E46 318 N42 INSPECTION 2 SERVICE KIT

Yeah I get it I just don't see why you didn't get a car in the UK as opposed to sourcing one in a tiny pool in DE :p

It tells you when you start the engine what the next service due is.

Assuming it has been correctly reset. If its got ropey history its probably had an " inspection 2" From everywhere that's touched it and claims all it needs is an oil service

Im pretty sure its -5300 without going out to the garage but as mentioned below I really am not sure how reliable that is. Im guessing that is 5300 miles overdue?

Well I dont live in the UK and have no way of getting around if I went back to visit. I would then need to make sure its taxed and insured for a day just to drive it back to Germany. Once here it would need continental lights fitted along with winter tyres and then be tested here and de registered from the DVLA and re registered with BFG. When I come to change it towards the end of next year I will be a lot more picky and buy from the UK.

I would be happier getting all the filters changed due to this. I would like to do the gearbox oil aswell but not sure how easy that is for me to do.

Not sure it can be classed as FULL M power here but....

Just placed on order through G2L on a Alpine White M135i.

Options:
Auto Box
Proffessional Media
Harman Kardon Hi-Fi

Got it on a cracking deal that would have been hard to turn down and hopefully it will cheaper running than my current Focus RS (aka. Money Pit)

8-10 weeks on delivery which should see the car on to a 14 plate :D

Apparently there is quite a back order on 35i engines.

Any other M135i owners here? Share your thoughts on the car?

Think its a 16" space saver, can check later if you need to know exact sizes

Edit might be 17 to clear the discs....will have a look

Definitely not under the second plastic cover? That confused me for about a week after I got mine. You might find a single alloy with tyre is much the same cost as a space saver - worth checking

Embarrassed to say I also failed at finding the space saver and it was under the plastic cover, glad it wasn't just me :D

It was under the plastic! with some smelly water.

Wanted to replace some parts so I got some quotes from the dealer:
Kick plates £70
Arm rest (door handle) £400

Think I will just wrap the scratched arm rest!
