BMW and M Power Owners

Found a couple that must have been taken not long after they were done plus one from this evening

Marks are just because it needs a clean nothing more.

Full interior - you get a better idea of how the sprayed trim matches here....and makes me realise just how bad the non oem stereo looks now, think its coming out

How tricky are the door cards to remove? Mine are scratched also.

Don't think I took the cards off specifically to do the arms. The arms just have 3 or 4 torx screws holding them to the door card. There might be some inside I can't remember ( had the door card off anyway as I also gave the tweeter grills a quick touch up).

The door card is simple, prise off the airbag plastic thingy, plus a screw in the handle then pull, working your way round - watch the clips they're easy to break

Have spare clips at hand because almost undoubtedly you will bend/snap one or two :)

rodenal, your gear gaiter needs a replacement! That one looks tired as muck!

I'm happy with the Alcantara one I have now so am happy to send you the Italian leather pair I had in before? Nice thick leather that looks the part.

Did you use same paint for speaker grills?

Yeah just gave them a light dusting.

Mrk that would be excellent, I have a club sport knob sitting waiting to go on at some point so would finish it off. I'll give you something for it though. Trust me and we will sort it out

anyone using a 1 series 5 door with a family ? tempted with a 123d M Sport 5 door - but have 2 kids - both under 10. Both myself and the Mrs are short though 5'4 - so I'm thinking only really boot space might be an issue on holidays

I've just about given up looking for M Sport 3 series (6 cylinder ones at a main dealer), loads of 320ds around - but from reading forums seems the less complex 123d Turbos are more reliable ?

found one 330d M Sport for sale at a dealer - but bit concerned about running costs - but zippo petrol 6 cylinders :( manual ones.

only got until mid Jan - when my MOT on my current car (due to be scrapped) is due

seem to be able to get an approved used 123d on a 2008 plate on low miles for 10.5k vs an approved used 330d on same plate and miles for 15k - big difference in price - and have a feeling the 123d will be more fun to drive

Why do you think the 123d is less complex than a 320d?

It's exactly the same engine but with an extra turbocharger. The 4 cylinder diesel is less reliable than the 6 cylinder one as the 6 pot doesn't have the timing chain problems.

Nothing is needed :)

Just Trust me your address and I'll send via work's mail on Monday.

whats the handling of the SE E90s vs the M Sports like please ? are they quite "soft" with lots of body roll - or are they still quite sporty against some of their peers ?

trying to widen search further out to not just M Sports - so it might end up being a decision between a 320d M Sport (loads for sale !) or a 325/330i SE

better engine vs handling ?

cheers

If I remember right the 33xi E9x SEs have M-Tech suspension anyway so the sporting feel on the road would still be there. The things you won't get are the Sport seats, M steering wheel, body kit and corresponding trim level.

320D is a bit of a tractor tbh, do you really want that? You're also looking at 330s so your mileage seemingly doesn't command a diesel.

Ah thought it was something along those lines :p

So the option is simple then, wait for the right M Sport :D

no - only around 10-12k a year max I'd say

just you can take your pick with 320ds loads for sale - they'd be no other reason I'd consider a 320d.

I'd found a nice (if pricey) 2011 325i M Sport at a dealer - but noticed in one of the options "M Sport Suspension Deletion" - aaargh ! lol

The ride on my E92 on 18 inch wheels and M Sport suspension was shocking.

shocking as in too stiff ?

basically want something thats pretty sporty riding but not shatter your teeth hard !

My Wife has a Civic 2.0 Type S - and I currently have a VTI (bit soft these days - suspension wise) - took a Type-R (FN2) for a test drive and found that too firm - but something akin to the Type S or slightly stiffer would be great. Her Type-S rides on the optional 17s so is possibly rides a bit harder than normal. I found the FN2 annoying on a short test drive.

since looking at FN2s my budget has increased some-what - partly due to change in circumstances, but also due to the fact my VTI has been so cheap to run I've saved more for a car than I expected - and with 2 kids that keep getting taller - looking for something family orientated but half-sporty - a 3 series seemed about the perfect compromise

as long as it handles well though I don't really mind too much - I mean my VTI has a lot of body roll - but it sticks to the road like glue (well at low speed anyway - LSD helps though)

in answer to one of the previous replies to me - took a look at a 1 series - and you're quite right - a bit too tight in the rear - I loved the comfort of the front though

as a guide - had a test-drive in a 2007 2.0T S-Line A4 - and found that firm but not unacceptably so

E9x m sport and the fn2 are quite comparable. Possibly even worse on run flats I would say. Removing them made a big difference to the car I've driven but it still wasn't what you'd call a nice ride. I'd try the softer set up

oh ! - ok test-drives in order then - thanks

took a look at a Skoda Octavia VRS today -but couldn't get past interior :(

I often think the BMW interiors, even in sporty trim, look a bit plain in photos - but as soon as I sit in the drivers seat I love it - seems to work well - even on the cheaper 1 series IMO

there is a used-approved 330 non-M (but with sports-seats) for sale near me in Maidstone that I may well go and take a look at tomorrow if still for sale - older N52 engine though -seems to have been up for sale for a while though

and there is a 325i - 2011 for sale at another dealer - M-Sport but with M-Sport suspension deletion - 8k more - but also worth a look then
