BMW and M Power Owners

I'm going to take a look for a magic eraser first and give that a go, if that manages to destroy my steering wheel then it gives me an excuse to get it re trimmed :D

It certainly looks like it has xenons..those are projector lenses which as far as I know were only fitted with the xenons.

It has projectors but not Xenons, you can see the beam adjuster wheel on the instrument panel and it doesn't have auto lights mode on the dial (far left setting before Off).

Right, so I've just started looking at the new model X5 (3.0d SE) as an alternative to the Disco HSE I had in mind. Early days yet but not having much experience with BMW do any of the good folks here like FOX have any thoughts, must haves, gotchas etc to think about?

Will be looking to buy some nearly new rather than brand new. No much around at the moment as it only released in Oct so mainly dealers selling off launch allocation, but in no rush at the moment.

I can see the dash brightness adjuster wheel, but there isn't a photo which shows the area of the LCM where the beam adjuster would be.

Oh yes you're right, I kept thinking the dash illumination dial was on the right and beam adjuster on the left! Still, if it was Xenon would it not have had auto lights too?

There may have been xenon-equipped cars with a manual on/off switch..that car has headlight washers which is another hint towards it having xenons. I really don't know for sure..one for Fox to correct us on I'm sure :)

Pop the reg number into the BMW warranty site to get the VIN, pop the last 7 off the VIN into one of the VIN Decoder websites, it should tell you exactly what the car has :) Only works with original dealer plates though I believe.

Already tried that one matey :) Annoyingly the BMW warranty site didn't like the reg number.

All facelift coupe and cab have projectors irrespective of whether it has xenons or not.

Cheers for clearing that one up. How about our other little query..do you know if there were xenon-equipped E46 cabs/coupes without the auto on/off option?

When you do, opt for double padding :D

Too right, it has to be done :)

You two really need to stop, you influence my purchasing decisions way too much :D I'm also going to pretend I never saw the aluminium pedals in Robbie's last photo.... :p

I give you one shiny steering wheel:

Now, back to fighting the urge for a refurb which will be infinately better :D

That's actually a really good result! I was going to try some Liquid Leather on mine but that Magic Eraser might be a whole lot easier!

I'm planning to Plastidip my steering wheel trim tomorrow as it's peeling slightly, so might just do the leather at the same time.
