BMW and M Power Owners

The N53 in my 325i had an injector go pop. Managed to dump 3 gallons of fuel straight through the cylinder and into the exhaust. Smokey!

Hands up who's surprised? :p

Odd question for those in the know.

A friend of mine has a E93 M3 which currently has 54k miles on it. He's got a just under a years comprehensive BMW warranty on the car which is likely to expire once the car has gone over the 60k magic mark.

Can he at this point switch to a monthly warranty to ensure he pays the lower price, or will he need to use up his current warranty before he can change it?

Thanks.

Thanks Fox. I had thought of that but I wasn't sure if they would let him do it. I guess there's no harm in asking though so I'll recommend he give them a call :)

I guess it's going to depend where this warranty came from. If he purchased it as an annual policy he can cancel it and receive a pro rata refund. He can then buy a new policy if he wants.

If it's an AUC warranty supplied with a new car he cannot cancel it and must wait until it expires to take out a monthly policy.

I have a feeling it's the latter - I know he had a few issues with the car which BMW took the mickey on during the first year so they gave him a second year FOC. I believe he's in this second year now.

Thanks again for your info, I'll tell him to get on the phone and see what's what.

I can't see the point, avoiding the price hike isnt worth throwing a year of warranty in the bin for and I cannot imagine phoning them up and explaining how he wants to find a way of avoiding the price increase at 60k mile, can they help, being very fruitful at all!

Picked up the M135 today, only driven it a few miles so far to and from work

Auto, heated seats, Bluetooth, pro audio or whatever it is called, I think it also has the sun kit where you get the tinted windscreen?

I'm also led to believe it has an M Performance exhaust but I don't know if it is standard or not?

Not loaded with options but I'm happy with it, I might add sat nav at a later date if I feel like splashing out

Car has 30k on the clock and I paid a shade over 20 for it

Just browsing around and a lovely 3.0 Z4 has caught my eye that's not too far away from me, Sterling Grey, nice spec (Sat Nav and other good stuff) 84k, FSH, mentions front bumper can do with a respray but no pics showing how bad it is £4900

What we thinking? Reasonable price for this time of year, I know these are reliable, but how long do these cars last? If I do go for it in planning on keeping it for a looooong while.

In Swansea? I've also had my eyes on that this morning but want to see how bad the wheels are.

Trying to decide 3.0l z4 or save another month for an m3.

They're pretty simple so will last as long as you care to spend the required money looking after them!

Other than the roof there isn't really much to go wrong that will cost a lot to fix (if you can work on it yourself)

Hands off :D

Yeah I'm hoping he shows up to date pics of the body and wheels then see if I can afford it, but need to view it first.

Heh I'm not ready to buy for a couple of weeks probably but keeping a keen eye on the forums. I think it's priced ok if the other pics aren't too bad!

I hope the m3's you're looking at aren't in the 5k range, likely to be absolute sheds! (Assuming e46)

If pics turn to be not too bad then I'll see if I can scrap some cash together and view it, wheels I'm not to bothered about, it's the body work I'm interested in, if it's only really the front bumber that needs a little work I'll jump at it, how much are front bumper re sprays these days?
