BMW and M Power Owners

I'll see what can be done when it goes in for it's first service. Not a deal breaker very happy with the car regardless just would have been a nice feature for the 3-4 times I may have used it in a year rather than use my phone. I only plan to keep this a couple of years i'll do my research next time I bought it in a bit of a rush due to some circumstances.

I am currently playing with DIS and INPA on my E36 to see what I can do with it :D
Was hoping to read some codes, and see what, if anything is coming up with errors and do some maintenance :)
Anyone else done this before?

I really struggled to ever get it to work properly on my e36 as I never had a laptop with serial port and all the round pin usb adapters just never seemed to play ball.

Think it was just a driver / com port issue tbh, had a much better time with it on the e46 where the standard obd2 could access everything

I can't seem to find the buttons on my 330i (E93) to adjust the height of the headlights, can anyone show me a helpful picture to solve my shameful situation. Typically I would have expected the button/roller to be near the fog lights buttons but alas, nothing there. I have the xenons but the height is low so viewing distance is poor except on full beams when it is excellent. They must have one as when the car starts up the headlights do a little raise and lower thing.

Guess I could just drive around with full beams on and become everyone's favourite driver :D

Cars with Xenon lights do not have the adjustment wheel because they are self levelling and not user configurable.

You can manually adjust the height under the bonnet but its rare you would ever need to do this..

hmm strange, they have a very definite cut off height above which no light flows, guess that might be due to the fact the lights are quite recessed to give it the aggressive look. At their current level it's certainly not much fun in the dark country lanes.

Take it to a MOT place or a dealer and get them to adjust them, they can be adjusted by quite a bit. I've had it done on my 6 and also my XF's where they were all set in a pattern I didn't like or much too low.

Got it working on my 1995 318is, using a USB with 20pin adaptor.

I was reading some stuff from the car to do with the EWS and a few other bits. It seemed vital that I had a charger attached to the car, and that I used USB2 and not USB3 ports!

Can't help but dislike the shape of the model though :( The side profile just doesn't look well proportioned, most especially the lower areas of the car.

I can see what you mean about the side profile, something seems a little off but I still think it looks great if i'm honest.

Think it looks miles better than the 1 series as I have never taken a liking to the 1.

I agree there's something about the shape which just doesn't look right. I think the front end looks good but the rear is particularly poor and the proportions look a bit odd to me. Having said that I still think it's a good looking car, especially in the flesh. :)

Been looking for a (5-door) replacement for E46, sadly my missus won't let me have another coupe otherwise I would probably have considered an E92! (IMO still one of the best looking BMWs around)

Tell the Mrs she can't have the shoes she wants because you don't like them, turn the tables :p

And then U-turn the turned tables because you simply cannot win :D

Hi does anyone know how big the partition for music is on the new bmw pro nav system?

I've got a new 225d coming in the next few weeks for work and seeing it comes with a 200gb hard drive (i think) but under no illusion ill be able to use that much for music.

Thanks

20gb..... Lovely glad i have just a few 32gb memory sticks kicking about now will come in use.
I gather its quite easy to delete albums you don't listen to anymore and upload a new collection if i wanted to? Or would it just be easier to stick a 64gb stick in a leave it?

I had a 14 plate F11 today as a courtesy car while some warranty work was being carried out.

First impressions, the 5 isn't as wide as I thought it might be (granted coming from an X6). Interior definitely not as well put together as the older gens, some cheap plastic in places I'd not have expected it.

It was a 520d auto - that didn't work so well tbh, I'm sure the extra power from the 530d would be so much more worthwhile. Screen / iDrive, same as my X6 except it had a tiny screen rather than a large widescreen unit fitted.

It rode well though, can see it being a great motorway cruiser, maybe even in 520d guise.

No it's not, the new F11's have NBT iDrive with 10.2" widescreen on Pro Nav fitted models, whereas your X6 has CIC iDrive with an 8.8" screen. The menu structure might be similar but it isn't the same.

The model you drove had Business Nav rather than Pro Nav as with your X6, but it's still a different system.
