BMW and M Power Owners

He's wrong, you definitely cannot transfer it, and once it goes into BMW they will most likely do a key reading and record the mileage.

This is what I suspected.

I just need to decide if it's enough of a good deal at £18k to justify the increased warranty price.....I don't really need Emergency Service as I have RAC breakdown cover with my bank so the comprehensive warranty with a £250 excess is £63.28 which I guess isn't the end of the world.

The only things that are a big concern on the Z4 35is is the turbo/actuators/wastegate failure and the roof mechanism. £63 a month isn't bad, and if you phone Mondial directly you can usually haggle the price a little bit.

I have never heard of anyone being able to negotiate and never managed it myself either. What did you manage to get off?

Interested....

Never heard of this

On my commute this morning the dash information, e.g. outside temperature, date, miles left in tank all turned to a red font, rather than a white one.

Assume it's trivial (read: hope), but does anyone know why this is?

Car is a 2013 F20 1 series.

Was it dim enough outside for the lights to be on and everything to go automatically into night mode?

Definitely could have been dark enough I suppose, it was going from white to red intermittently.

Is it a red font at night? I'm certainly embarrassed that I hadn't noticed that before! :D

Reddish orange, like the dials.

The lights can come on but it still not be dark enough for all the displays to switch to night mode, so at dusk for example you can have your auto lights coming on but the dash still in white, but as it gets darker the display go into a night time mode with reddish orange text / dial illumination and the idrive display goes dark (e.g. sat nav colour all change, etc.

*sighs* why do people not spec up the desirable options on cars that cost a lot in the first place, what's a few hundred here and there to have the toys people!! :p

Trying to find a 6 GC with all the toys, but proving not so easy, unless I want one with a brown or beige interior, which I don't really.

There are very few essential options on a 6 GC anyway, everything you need is standard leaving only nice to have stuff on the options list.

I agree in terms of essential, but at the price point I'm kinda wanting some of the nice stuff :) And just surprised so few have the reversing camera tbh.

You can have mine! Stupid thing.

Currently doesn't have a working heads up and flashes error messages at you all the time...but the reversing camera works!

Other than the M-Sport Plus pack the only things I had on mine were the Surround cameras which were a nice to have, but would have wanted the reversing camera as a minimum.

hi

what is the different between 'sport' and 'M sport' in new 1 series?

im looking at new 120d M Sport auto but there wont be any no options added sadly.

i'm a little worried M Sport suspension might be too hard without Adaptive option added. i used to own a Fabia VRS mk2 . i found the ride was a little too hard.

i tested drove 118d m sport last week and found it was ok but then at the end of the test drive i realised the mode was at comfort at the whole time.

thanks

The body kit/wheels, suspension, and LED lights are standard on M Sport. There are other things like the anthracite headlining, M door sills, alcantara seats, updated M steering wheel. I'd have a look at the brochure, there may be things you expect to be standard that you aren't getting, like parking sensors and an auto dimming rear view mirror.

The suspension isn't too bad and it's very good to drive, but you can have it deleted if you want (at no cost).

hi robbo

much appreciated for replying.

the dealer said he'll throw in the cruise control and rear parking options in for free if i order before this weekend!

i have another 3 of 1 series available via lease. all of them are same price.

120d xDrive Sport
120d Sport
120d M Sport
120i Sport

all are auto. i honestly dont know which one to go for! i do about 15k miles a year

my understanding that the suspension on Sport and M sport are the same in 3 series? if so, is it same for 1 series? i'm very new to BMW

thanks again

I think M Sport is essential, especially now with the LED lights. The auto box is excellent so that's a good choice too. Cruise and parking sensors are always handy.

I'm not sure about the 3 series, but I'm pretty sure M Sport suspension is different to Sport. If you're worried just tell the dealer you need to try an M Sport 1 series without adaptive suspension, and see what you think to it. Really only you can decide if it's too firm or not.

they didn't had a 1 series m sport without adaptive for a test drive. shame

if i have the M Sport suspension Deleted, then it'll be 'sport' suspension which is the same as SE trim? thats what my understanding when i looked at the brochure
