Bourbon, Rye and American Whiskey

Pappy's! (doubt we'll ever be on first name terms) knew it was expensive -& if you have to look up the price you can't afford it, googles showing > £1.5K -
hope he's a good friend.

I've never had a bottle but I have drank it on a few occasions. Amazing!

Prices vary depending on the age and other factors. I saw an ad for 23 y/o family reserve for $4799.99....

I've had the rye but don't recall it being anything special. Bought the bourbon anyway, I like to have a bourbon or rye in for my Boulevardiers and the BT is dangerously low :p

I didn't rate their Eye either, but let me know how you find the Bourbon. Its one of my favourites, particularly at £20!

I recall reading a few reviews of Pappy’s and people seem to suggest that it’s actually quite woody tasting, which is a little disappointing as I don’t tend to like aggressive wood notes... at least not at first. You have to accustom yourself to them. I’d obviously like to try it but it cannot possibly live up to the hype.

The legacy edition Jack Daniels (old fashioned looking green bottle) is back on Amazon £22.

I just ordered one.

Makers Mark is £23.

Jack Daniels number 6 distillers select is on Tesco with a clubcard for £20, but that isn't quite a good as the legacy edition IMO, not that there is much in it.

Going to try the JD legacy, cheers.

Yea let me know what you think, I've had it a few times before, maybe I have a good bottle not sure, I have found bottle to bottle they do vary, I seem to have a good one and I've bumped it right up the list.

Definitely Woodford varies also, two bottles back had a particularly good one.

So tried another one today added to the list.

Early Times Old Reserve.

Actually not as bad as I had thought it would be, smooth enough although the flavour is just a bit plain. Cheaper end also I paid £21 I think.
