BRINK

Seriously give it a ****ing rest with the whole 'its not available in the UK' crap. Its not exactly the first game thats been pulled from Steam in the UK, only this time its not down to HMV or GAME wanting it pulled and it should be back up once they figure out whats up.

Why would you buy it off steam for £30 anyway when its steamworks?

D2D was equally screwed up FYI. Region based IP lockdowns were a total, TOTAL mess.

I don't care if it's the first or the last game to be pulled. It's unacceptable. It's a total joke and anyone involved should be downright embarrassed. I would be, my product is out there but people in some places cannot even BUY it?

Not purchasable by large regions, buggy, needs extensive patching to become acceptable - I think that earns it's label of a damn right failure of a launch. You can empathise with the publisher/developers all you want, that's your choice.

Yet the keys were still available for launch, and D2D gave the option to pre-download the installation files for everyone. Nobody that bought through D2D was prevented from playing on release. But wait it was a "TOTAL mess" apparently.....

You're acting like they've done it deliberately. Plop happens, something went wrong, they're working to resolve it asap.

Having played it, I find it's far from unacceptable. It's a great game, and very enjoyable. It has a few bugs, but when the first big patch hits, it'll be even better.

I agree with Evil. Give it a rest..

I'm really enjoying this, but the servers seem a little unstable (getting kicked saying the server has shutdown?) and how hard is it to integrate 'join game' from the friends list? it's a steamworks game. If it's online multiplayer then this should be mandatory!

Spec in the sig, not a single crash at all and running a mild overclock but also core voltage is at stock. Still some lag as well but improvements will come. Solid 8/10 for me, but I want more stability from my weapons (upgrades available?) and if it ran a bit smoother I'd be happy. Don't listen to the naysayers and get it. It's hella fun!

That's because some people are running listen servers (ie from the same machine they're playing on). The server shuts down when they exit out of the game.

Hopefully they'll add an icon in the server browser to distinguish between Dedicated and Listen servers :)

Really enjoying it. I haven't encountered any crashes or bugs so far. No lag for me in multiplayer. Performance could be better, I can't get a constant 60 FPS even on low settings, in some outdoor sections I can drop to ~30 FPS which makes it hard to play well.

It's getting free DLC in a few months so that will make it even better. I do think they should have spent more time testing because I feel for the people who can't play it because of bugs.

If you want to see a **** right failure of a launch look at Black Ops - SD do atleast seem to care about their game, making an effort to patch things quickly, responding/interacting with their community, etc. with black ops it was 14 days after launch before there was any acknowledgement of the large number of people screaming blue murder, some half arsed patches that took ages to be released and then they rounded on their community and accused them of being the problem.......... and it was months before the game was in a half playable shape for a lot of people.

It was, could not be purchased from D2D for me from FOUR different regions on 3 different systems on 5 different ISPs

3 days and purchasing is still broken. That is a **** up. End of.

Not to mention, just how hard is it for a couple of devs to sit around a table and work out a config file to ship on the PC build so that people do not have to be doing it themselves just to, for example, unlock FPS? 1 day would have been all it took to sit down and just go through a few platform optimisations. Everyone else seems to be quite placated by the fact a patch will come, eventually, nobody really seems interested in holding anyone accountable for what should be an exceptionally simple processes pre-launch.

I don't claim to be a developer, nor do I claim to know it all but seriously - these sorts of things are what should be occurring and if other development houses can do it, why can't all of them?

Widdums. Not my problem if you don't know how to use a VPN correctly.

GAME have failed big time, they left unwrapped boxes of the game on the shelves. People were just opening the boxes and noting the serial keys then activating them on steam. Feel sorry for the poor bugger who pays 30 for their copy only to find it wont activate

I don't why people are hating on Brink I generally have low opinions of most FPS games since I mostly play counter strike 1.6 but Brink has added something new to the genre which has been stale for years with all the garbage like Call of Duty which had nothing new that had been done since 2004.

Joined a game and now I can see my whole gun and my whole arms really strange, tried restarting etc. Any clue? Also keep losing sound :(
