BRINK

That would be because you aren't playing on dedicated servers and you are joining a game that someone is hosting and said hoster leaves/disconnects/pc explodes and then you get that message. I would assume.

ALL the games I join are doing this, even the dedicated servers. I've read its a problem with O2 ST585 routers, I've increased the TCP timeout and enabled ping via telnet but still having this porblem.

It's a fun game but I don't see myself playing it as much as BadCompany2
I'll still burn a few more hours on it :D
It's probably best to alternate games, playing just one game tends to become boring at some point.

I’m slightly fed up with how often the server console disconnects which then in turn shows the server as offline unless you either exec the cfg file again in console or restart the server. I hate having to baby sit servers tbh.

FT are you having any issues with yours ? Our 3 go over about 3 times a day. Theres a massive thread about it on the SD forum but as yet no official responce.

For those who are getting "The connection to the game session has been lost" as random times on on any server, delete the brinkconfig.cfg from G:\Steam\userdata\32262387\22350\local\base and the relaunce the game. It will genreate a new cfg file and I've found I don't get kicked from servers anymore :)

Spoke to soon, still getting it. Tried connecting to 10 differnet servers and all dispalyed the same thing. What router are you guys using?

Yahtzees review was pretty spot on.

Hmm I have quit a bit to say about that.

First I didn't realize people consider zero punctuation as a review, what he does is he finds something funny tries to make that joke relevant to the game and then proceedes to be a clown. Don't get me wrong I like zero punctuation but I don't consider them a review.

If we do look at it as a review he made a huge huge mistake by trying to compare that game to TF2, I like both games and they're nothing alike. Totally different kind of play in mind.

Add to that the fact that he does not play multilayer games you'll understand he probably played only single player (which is there just to be there). The critique about appearance was irrelevant as it's there to personalize the character for the player himself, the player wouldn't care if others can see which hair colour you got.

Bottom line...don't take zero punctuation as a review...its a comedy show with games as topics and if you do...well don't listen to what he says about multilayer games, he's a simple guy bless his soul, single player and simplicity is what he likes.

Bought a Netgear N150 and I no longer get "The connection to the game session has been lost" message. Crazy I had to BUY another router just to get this game working, still the O2 Box is pants and I now have Wireless N :)

I felt it came over as a review, If you put aside the TF2 comparison all the issues he raised were spot on. Brink is only half a game and half of that half a game is up for debate. The inclusion of a character creator would suggest that players should feel unique and standout, this isnt the case. The inclusion of classes which don't serve much of a purpose other than completing objectives and the occasional revive.

Also I have a level 20 character and I play a few games here and there but overall the game leaves a lot to be desired.

Just put up my first Brink vid, let me know what you guys think!

Are we playing the same game? People weren't dropping dead almost instantly from SMG fire (including you) and your opponents weren't snap-reacting to your sudden appearance on the radar after you shot someone.

Just highlights how stupidly balanced this game is though. In theory its great being able to choose the upgrades for a certain class. In practice you end up the jack of all trades - master of none or spec entirely in 1 class which means theres no reason to ever change. Not to mention the advantage of simply having those buffs over those who don't.

Tbh as far as I can tell very few people actually take note of the radar, I rarely look at it myself. There are occasions where you get strange insta-kill moments in the game (and insta-killed), but generally I find people take a fair few bullets to drop.

That is normally the case yeah. Those games tend to be more fun. But every so often theres a match where my enemies seem to all start shooting me the moment I open fire from behind (its almost as bad as the bots instantly snapping to you if you break disguise behind them) which makes attempting to get behind them a waste of effort and there always seems to be the odd match where someone just seems to kill you almost instantly with an SMG every time you see him.

Still doesn't really combat the gigantic unbalance caused by the ability system. Extra mines, kevlar, stronger damage buff, silent running, downed fire, self revive, turrets, two mines, etc. I've basically put everything into Operative so any attempt to play the other 3 classes would be a waste of time.

Does anyone know if its possible to take this game back to the purple shop and get a refund/swap for another game? Really unsure where i stand as its tied to my steam account, never had to or thought about returning a game in a long time.. such a waste of 30 quid :/
