British Grand Prix 2011, Silverstone Circuit - Race 9/19

Gascogne is saying their weather forecast is looking much better tomorrow and Sunday and that there is no point running as it's so wet it would be at least SC or red flag in the race.

Im really liking twitter, never got the point of it. But do now, not that I post much.

lol its not even that wet....

Why produce the extreme tyre anymore if they're not going to run when it's wet.

They then complain when it's wet in the race, saying they haven't had much running in the wet.

I blame fia rather than the teams. Why bother compromising the car all season for rain and why run in the rain, when they know ita going to be SC or red flag.
Fia need to grow some testicals and say well if it rains you can tip toe around in first gear at 5miles an hour. Oh and they need to get rid of parc ferme if it's dry qauli and a wet race start. So they can change set up.
Then we would see teams trying.

+1

All in the name of "driver safety" - it annoys me even more when you have drivers like Webber crying about how much it is raining. Get on with it!

There's or at least was a fair amount of standing water and it was coming down pretty heavy.
A few people out now.
More rain in 9mins.

most of it would be cleared up pretty fast if everyone was out doing lap ,even in the last few years they have raced in much worse..

its almost as if no one wants to race unless theres a dry lane

Im not getting into another argument around the physics of driving and F1 car in the wet.

But I will say, my understanding is that the Inter tyre from Pirrelli goes a lot further into very wet weather than the Bridgestone did, which means the window between racing on the Wet and stopping the race is a lot smaller, which explains why we hardly ever see them on it.

#F1 One team source tells me that today the FIA ruling changed from 10% throttle to 68%, which he says is 'close to full cold blowing'

#Ferrari Domenicali to #McLaren Whitmarsh in #F1 P2 re; #redbull blown diffuser. "The ****ers are doing it again"

Apparently Horner and Whitmarsh are having a heated debate in the press conference regarding another change in off throttle blown diffusers.

Edit: James Allen just said that the Renault engines are still using 50% off throttle..

..which ties in with what people said in FP2, some had noticed that RBR could be heard blowing their diffuser as in previous races.

Any links to any of this, I know people have been saying that. But they would be disqualified.

Surely when the cars are scrutinised they will fall foul?
