Burnout Paradise - The Ultimate Box

This game is very different to the other Burnout games from what i have heard. The open world idea makes it a different sort of experience.
I am really looking forward to it.

i enjoyed burnout 1 to 3, but they are all basically the same, although fun.

i will try this when the price goes down, its good for a quick blast of fun, which is what arcade games are all about

i mentioned earlier in the thread that Criterion are releasing the full game as a demo with no restrictions other than a time limit.

they want everyone to be able to play the game to see how well they have ported it to the PC whilst also sampling its addictive gameplay.

A truly bold move in todays market and a gesture that i doubt you will see from any other developers/publishers, and therefore they should be commended for at least believing in their efforts .. considering the widespread piracy that hinders the PC market.

Well after playing for a few hours, im quite impressed with it, looks nice, has a nice gameplay factor which will keep you going before you get bored, oh and the soundtrack aint too bad either.

On that note, anyone found out where the music files are kept for this?

I got to admit I don't really play that many driving games as I have the driving skills of a blind drunk driver but I have been enjoying this.

Maybe it just me I prefer this over test drive underground and the last Need for Speed.

Seeming I hardly play driving games then the replay value and novelty might last a bit longer.

But so far I have been enjoying this even though I can't stand the menu interface and EA downloader with a passion. Hoping to look to get a few games with you guys in the near future.

okay heres a video ingame i made earlier http://files.filefront.com/13199545

Thanks dude! Very much appreciated :D  DL'ing atm.

edit: Wow, very good. The takedowns look very impressive. The only niggle I saw was when it reset you in the wrong place at that 3-way junction, so you had to turn around, but other then that, it looks like amazing fun to play, very smooth gameplay, no silly menus etc to go through. :D

your welcome, btw the crash that put me in the wrong place is actually the first time that happened!! damn cheating AI !! haha

a nice feature when your online in a group is when your all lined up on the grid, the camera zooms to each player individually and gives a brief commentary on their status, ie 'this player is ranked 200 in the world' or 'this player has 'xx' rivalries' etc etc... im really enjoying this game just exploring the map..

Lol, cool stuff! Sounds more and more tempting the more I hear about it~ :o :D
I need the demo asap!

runs very well on my laptop (T7700, 2gb ram, vista and X2400), main pc is in storage at the moment. Runs very good @1280x800.

Seems like a good FUN ARCADE racer - it's not going to be an amazing polished graphical game as burnout has always been about crazy fast paced racing.

The mugshot for your driving license is class as my inbuild webcam was used to take a mug shot for my license!!

Bring on the online options - looks excellent!!

People have the demo now, you can DL the full game and just install it as the demo if you really cannot hang about a month for the proper demo.

http://criteriongames.com/packs/pc.php
In Feb '09, the demo will be available from www.criteriongames.com and www.ea.com, but we'll also be distributing millions of disks. Once it's installed, you don't need the disk to play, so you're free to share it around. To get the most out of the demo, try out Burnout Paradise online with your friends. We'll bring you more info on where to obtain your FREE trial in the run up to the release in February.
