Was an OK race. Merc capitalised on other teams/drivers being out of position.

Another solid drive by Max. The RBR package is looking too strong at the moment, but who knows what the upgrade cycle will bring.

We are almost half way so I still think it is a little too early to call it, but I have to say I can’t see anything beating Max this year. It would have to be pretty special to catch him and go past on the points table.

Lewis pulled away considerably from George in the final stint. Perhaps a reminder that even in a car that lacks performance, he is an incredibly good driver.

Alonso gets a 5 second penalty for weaving. Drops him 2 places, ends up in P9 behind Bottas and Zhou.

Couldn't watch due to the time difference, but happy to see both Alfas in the points when checking this morning.
What an absolute disaster for Haas though. Hoped they'd get something out of this race with their quali result. :'(

I'll need to see some replays of Alonso's driving, but I can imagine he was probably going a bit far. Sad for the penalty, but at least still in the points.

As soon as the Mercedes is onto a smooth track I'm pretty sure it'll be in contention for the win. Just hope any forced changes the FIA might introduce don't cause problems for other teams

Really disappointed for Mick but a really solid weekend for him, matched Magnussen pretty much all weekend and was having a great battle with Zhou before the car gave out.

A few more performances like that and I think he'll be safe for next year, the Haas car clearly isn't as quick as it was the first few races compared to the competition. Looks like very little in the way of development/updates on that car.

Haas are beginning to look like an ex f1 team, a warning to anyone thinking of joining. When they say 5 years they mean 5 years and even then you probably won't have made any real progress.
Haas must have spent over half a billion on effectively a back marker,
You would have thought Stroll has gone about it a better way, but they are struggling.
In reality the new rules have been an abject failure. They haven't made cars easier to develope, they've done the opposite. The engine rules are daft and not actually saving any money because when they blow up you still need to buy a new one, but you are penalised.

Average race

Max untouchable really. Don't think Sainz had the talent on him.

Pleased for Lewis' podium. Still groaned when he had a 9 second gap to Russell and then the safety car came out...if Merc kept Russell out for bit longer he likely would have lucked into leapfrogging Lewis again!

Good to see Merc reliability holding up so far. They have always been there to mop up the lost points from the Red Bull's and Ferrari's breaking.

I wonder if the end might have been more interesting without the safety car to see if Sainz had the tyres left to keep Max at bay. Although, it was gift to Leclerc who got some extra vital points because of it.

Mclaren's attempted double stack pit was hilarious to watch. Needed Benny Hill music.

And....

Lol at Alonso
