*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

I thought as the foam collapsed against the car body that was giving (even kinetic?) energy to improve cleaning and foam is also preventing too much evaporation giving it a good damp environment to work,
so thickness & endurance are good.

Pretty sure almost all of the cleaning effectiveness of snow foam is based on the surfactants etc. in it and not any sort of physical action - the fact it's foam is just to give the surfactants enough contact time to work on your car rather than the floor.

Picture with the snow ?
I have yet to see a picture in thread of say >2" depth of snow across a car where you can no longer see car ... I guess ambient temperature also comes into play, for its endurance;
absence of that ,has not yet sold a snow cannon to me - I should also look upon the bonus of a workout carrying/setting up the K5 though

I was too busy washing the car to take pics at the time. I wouldn’t have said it was thicker than 2”. Maybe 1”. Anymore than that and I’d be worried I’d put on too much as it’s only the stuff in contact with the car that does any cleaning.

The K5 has wheels. There’s no workout involved!

Needed more snow foam and thought I'd pick up some of the GT range to try it out, may have got a little carried away. Also finally got myself a trigger gun.

Nice haul. I'm still super impressed with the GT Tyre serum. Never had another tyre dressing last so long between washes.

In use the GT shampoo too. It's good but I feel I need 30ml per 10L for solid suds. I have a 5L bottle so still well over 100 washes at that dosage. Why do feel the need for a dedicated wheel shampoo?

The wheel shampoo just has a bit more bite to tackle the brake dust fallout, not 100% necessary on well maintained wheels, but hell, why not.. I use it in a foam sprayer to cover the wheel and tyre before I start

What @leoncuprar said really. That and the fact I keep seeing/reading good things got me curious. Car is well maintained, and wheels usually don't need a full decon, once every few washes is probably what I do. I usually just use BH AW for the car and wheels and it always does a good job.

That's what I probs do too, use it in an IK Foamer.

Any recommended products for keeping on top of interior dash plastics / leather seat cleaning? Perhaps wipes or similar? Just looking for something that's quick to do in-between proper cleans.

Honestly just a bit of interior quick detailer and a microfibre cloth, a lot of the wipes leave behind dressings and all sorts aren't the best.

Soft 99 have just brought out wipes exactly for this use

Here's a link to their whole wipe range , they even do engine bay too

7 pcs? for leather I would use Dr Leather wipes get 40 wipes for around 12-15quid

Honestly - Have a bunch of inexpensive Microfibres and a small bottle of Interior APC secured in the boot.

I’ve found wipes aren’t wet enough, or leave fibres behind as they begin to fall apart.

Autofinesse Verso gets my vote.

Same I use Autoglym interior shampoo and a little microfibre buffing pad. Works perfectly and smells nice.

I am quite happy with the leather shampoo and conditioner, plus the interior dash cleaner from AG. I have a small horse hair brush for anything stubborn. A good vacuum gets rid of 90% tbh.

This is the way, modern automotive leather isn’t as leathery as you’d imagine and can be cleaned like most other interior surfaces.

was wondering why my Carbon Collective battery foamer/spray was using the spray nozzle really poorly (on both of them)

looking at the nozzle, there is no hole at the top in the inner part, only on the sides

Design flaw ?

here's pics :

so the blue bit screws on the top
