Little Recommendation - for Cheap/No Thrills Lint Free Glass Cloths.

£2.50 for x3 - 40CM Wide and 50CM in Length from Dunelm

With them being fairly large, if you fold correctly you have more than enough clean fresh sides to buff without needing an additional cloth for the entire car.

Silly question probably but do you then rewash these and use again or would a washing machine wash wreck them?

They are Machine Washable - I’ve not put these through numerous washes yet but after a couple of washes appear like new.

I tend to wash my car towels at 20c using Non Bio Liquid Detergent and without any Fabric Softener as this ruins towels absorption.

Chucking some vinegar in instead of Fabric Softener isn't a bad idea. Stops them getting stiff due to any soap and hard water, but doesn't clog them up. White vinegar that is.

Still beading like a champ. Last wash was 3 weeks ago and ~450 miles.

The softening tablets are doing the same thing as the vinegar is in this case, so just use whichever is cheaper.

It’s only used during the rinse section, as it goes into the fabric conditioner part :-)

Using the water softener tablet improves the performance of the detergent during the main wash cycle too

I'm not allowed to put rags through, manual wash for me

Rinse them through with water, then I've got car pro microfiber wash

Does not come out as clean though

Yeah my area really struggles with horrible hard water, I’ll have to look into the water softener tablets.

Looking good! You can always see those who look after their cars and those who don’t as the select few of us have lovely beadage :p

Edit: Perhaps well maintained is better to describe it.

Scrubbed up quite well the other day. I tried out some of the Turtle Wax Seal n Shine and it has done a great job, especially considering it started to rain towards the end of washing it. Said rain left dust spots all over the car, so I cleaned that off with some Sonax BSD, hopefully between the two the protection lasts for awhile :).

i was in halfords getting my camera installed
whilst i was there, i bought some stuff

the Turtleax waterless was was on offer :)

No they never have the same level of clean/softness again :/
agree - 60c bio washes, too, to shift product solvents/residue, like for oily boiler suit for diy underneath car - regular clothes only get non-bio 30C,

purchased a thick brushed 100% cotton under-sheet, way back, that I cut up & use for car maintenance products (but not washing the car).

Gave the car a wash today, honestly couldn’t be bothed with the faff of pressure washer.

Pump Sprayer to apply a Citrus Based Pre-Wash followed by a generous rinse down with the hose with as much pressure it would give me.

To clean the alloys I used Turtlewax Redline and then applied Autobrite Wheel and Tyre through an IK Foamer.

Contact wash with Autobrite Purple Velvet followed by a coat of Autobrite Project 64 as I gave the car a final wipe down with a finishing towel.

Car looks very well cared for, minus the wheel arches which haven’t dried spotless, oh and guilty of skipping the inner barrels on this occasion.

Forgive me for being stupid, do you use these to dry your paintwork?
