Just looks like one of those Teslas :D

Lol, indeed.

This other test game of 500k seems a little better, well shoe box type muscle cars are there. But take a look at the loading on the 12700k.....

less loading for the GPU, but, as noted, the CPU does get utilised..!

But, even with such a large population, the city seems somewhat empty..!

I think I'm done with this until there's a few more patches and fixes to demand. I've hit 54k and all my demand is still for low density housing with the occasionally spike in demand for industry. Commercial is always full demand yet I can't fit any more in the higher demand areas and putting any in the low density housing just ends up with them not having enough customers. I've got almost 10x the spaces I need in education and lowered taxes for offices yet still can't get any demand for them.

I've also hit a weird bug with trash - I can apparently process 960t and my town produces only 250t but all my landfill, recycle centres and trash burning places (forgot what they're called) are full so my whole town is moaning about trash. I can place more depot's down which solves the problem temporarily but only until the storage is full.

My game was the same then I started getting high density demand, seemingly randomly..... The only thing I would say is make sure you got a university, that seems to be a big one.

I think garbage needs addressing and seems very unblanced to me. I would be surprised if its all working as inteded and it's not adjusted soon in a patch. Given how easily some services are to manage (water and sewage for example) yet you seemingly to have to spend 90% of your city budget on garbage management and still end up fighting a loosing battle.

However..... for the time being you can just cheese it. Simply bulldoze your landfills, and make a new one in exactly the same place, it magically empties them. I personally have no issue doing this because I don't think it's even remotely balanced at the moment.

What a **** show this release has been. I was really looking forward to playing this as well. It looks like it's one to come back to in a years time.

One plus side is that at least they forewarned everyone about the performance, thats more than most game companies do who release games without mentioning that its got performance issues

The game is making me rage today. Traffic nightmares where there shouldn't be issues due to people randomly deciding to do 3 point turns in the middle of main roads and highways. Swooping across 6 lanes to take an exit that's on the other side of the road despite there being no lane markers for this. Traffic lights going green at the front cars moving, but everyone else just moving up to the light, stopping and then going again. Roundabouts and other intersections getting clogged up despite all the exits being clear. Had another issue where a whole area of city was all blocked up because one car in particular had just stopped in the middle of the road and wouldn't move!
Add in garbage collection not working at all and constant graphics glitches. Sigh.

Where are you getting it for £20? Im on Gamepass and will end up buying it once its on sale, and ~£20 is cheap enough.

Its kinda hard to say its a good game to buy currently, the core gameplay is there, but theres plenty of bugs and a lot of what will make it more C:S-like are still to come. It needs mods mostly, simply because its not C:S until it has the C:S features we're used to, and the DLC down the road will add more variety that CS1 has.
At £20, its worth it for the game it'll become. Today, its a hard sell. Chances are pretty much everything should be dealt with by the end of this month, except DLC stuff, and full optimisation work. On high end modern cards, performance is fine, the issue is it shouldnt be 'fine' it should be a breeze.

So,guys , worth a purchase at £20 or wait for optimisation ?

Have a 7900XTX to play it on .
Its running OK for me on a 3080 and on 4k settings, knocked a few things down in settings but I'm not zooming in much currently, so overhead views are fine. Just getting used to things and doing various different saves to work out what I will do long term

It was £25 on cdkeys at some point, Ultimate was £48. Gone up a bit now, 28 and 55

Yeah, ive been keeping an eye on things there. I did buy/order an Ultimate key from them before launch and then cancelled it because it no longer used Workshop so i was in no rush to get it on Steam as i knew i could play on gamepass.
With the ~5 day delay getting patches on gamepass, its making me a little impatient.

Seems on a whole buggy not just performance but traffic AI, demand, economy etc... does make me think if I should go back to CS1, but it was so modded it felt a bit odd in places, saying that the new road tool in CS2 I don't really like it, the snapping seems easy to "let go" as in it'll very easily unsnap. But there were issues in CS1 such as population not really increasing which I was sure was a bug maybe related to a mod, however the way population is going in CS2, maybe not.

Man, every big Gamepass game that has came out recently has been a massive disappointment.

I was looking forward to Starfield, Forza 8 and this and they have all turned out to be not that great. Starfield was ok but got boring quickly and runs like **** for what it looks like. Forza 8 is just a train wreck. Now this looks like it is just a buggier, worse performing version of the first one, making it totally superfluous.

What is happening with the game industry man? A lot of developers seem to have totally checked out.

Yep, agreed. From a pure performance perspective, they all look far worse than they should considering the framerates. Then add in the various gameplay issues on top of this, lots of disapointment!
Got a fair bit into Starfield (albeit on Steam) before losing interest as it just began to feel super samey. Forza 8 hasn't been *too* bad for me - but it's not what I was hoping, not remotely the "built from the ground up" game they were claiming prior to release, the sound in particular is absolutely terrible.
Meanwhile CS2 is massively janky, but is still just about scratching an itch for me right now. I hope the devs get some fixes out quick and modding can come and help.

That's such a shame about CS2 not being up to scratch of what people were hoping for.
I'm not too fussed about the graphics side of things, but I really do want a working simulation under the hood. The kind of thing where everything is interlaced, chane one things and that knocks onto several other things, which in turn knock onto others.
Things like bulldozing a landfill only to be able to sart a new empty one kills this kind of game for me.
I guess I'm looking for Dwarf Fortress City Builder.

I'm really enjoying it at the moment.

I just cant wait for the modders and asset creators to get stuck in.

Like for like base game vs base game it's definitely better than the first, but obviously still in an early state vs polished state.

You know you don’t have to ‘cheat’ by deleting the landfill and rebuilding it. You can play as you’d expect the game to be played.

I’ve not got any in my current city and I’m getting by just fine with recycling plants, incinerators and the industrial waste processing site.

Well, apparently I have to. Incinerator seems to be doing nothing, all my landfills are full. Nothing is being exported. Whole city is complaining about garbage piling up. Even if the Incinerators were working at the process rate the UI says, I'd need about 10 of them to deal with the amount of garbage being produced within the city, which I couldn't afford and would take up a huge amount of space. Or I just take up a whole island with landfil, which would look terrible.
