Civilization VI

I think they're saying it's the same product, milk, but that Barry may not have obtained the milk he is selling legally.

Ahhh, gotcha. I must admit that I have never considered Kinguin to be illegal. I buy virtually all my games from either them or CDKeys these days. Maybe I have just been fooling myself that I am doing something illegal.

Having said that, I'll still be buying it from Kinguin rather than Steam

Wasnt sure if I liked the new look from the original screenshots but have to say now that I've seen them in motion I rather like them. Loving that day/night cycle too

Yeah they are pretty nice in motion when playing the normal game, although I think they could maybe tweak the colours to be less saturated and preferably increased texture quality but they are minor issues and the game isn't out for months yet.

In the second video, at 8:48, the barbarian.. explodes? :(

This looks horrid, basic, it looks like it will take an year or two (again) before we have a decent game.

Always the case with Civ games. Don't know why they don't just take the final expansion from the previous game and use that as the new base. It's like they go back to absolute basics.

I guess it gives them chance to milk some $ from DLC expansions but still, it's a bit of a tedious cycle.

TBH the videos kind of hacked me off, they didnt get any content from the games they played so its all the same stuff they show.

Also the game might have some of Civ 5's expac content but they have already been telling people to not get their hopes up for same level of depth as Civ 5's versions.

All in I'm airing on borderline for this so far, all I can say is that I'm hoping 5 months brings on more development. I cant say I like the workers and defense ideas, feels very unlike other Civ games I've played up to now.

Just need to wait and see.

Some fundamental changes... builder instead of worker. 4 charges... rushes wonders...
Hmm... interesting mechanic.

I personally like the look of this. I honestly don't understand why there is a marmite reaction to this video (perhaps the first image released was meh, but after seeing it running, personally cant complain).

Yeah, I'm quite surprised. It looks a lot better in motion than the still screenshots showed.

From watching that gameplay, I think ive changed my tune on the art style, works well i think and they seem to have adjusted it from the original screenshot so its not as garish.

Some interesting gameplay changing concepts shown too, the wonders taking up a tile of space is interesting, almost forces you to have multiple well managed cities if you want wonder domination, rather than one mega city or a bunch of empty puppet cities.

It seems there has to be a Marmite reaction to everything these days, you can only love it or hate it, it's ridiculous really. I didn't particularly like the art style when I first saw it, but some of the comments were so over the top. I'm more interested in the gameplay changes, that's what my purchasing decision will be based on.

Well said. One comment I cringed at ealirer was someone mentioning about taking a barbarian camp having an explosion effect?

Not sure if serious tbh!
