Civilization VI

Golf Courses, they couldn't think of anything more uniquely Scottish than a golf course?

I'd have put in a methadone clinic (I jest, I jest) but as far as unique improvements go, the golf course is really nice and synergises well with the way to play as Scotland (as many amenities as possible to keep the people happy/ecstatic for the science and production bonus').

The Highlander is a bit rub though. I'm sure they could have put it in as a Musket replacement with the same hill/forest bonus, rather than a Ranger (who ever builds these?).

I wonder if we'll get a double first look next week for the Zulu/Mapuche, seeing as the game will release the week after next.

We have a lot of golf courses. And you try naming a unique Scottish building or land improvement. Perhaps a special type of pasture you can only build on sheep that accelerates population growth, if you get my drift?

I actually hope the Zulus aren't in the game. To my discredit, nothing turns me into a heinous racist faster than Shaka in Civ 5.

Couldn't get into this game at release, perhaps just too used to Civ V mechanics. Was browsing steam player stats yesterday and noticed V had far more online players than VI so maybe I'm not alone. Has it got any better since release?

I would say its gotten better since release, the caveat to that is that I liked it at release anyway ;)

Really? I bought the deluxe and since not had to buy a single DLC yet. I do not expect to have the first expansion free too.

I'm with Mr Jack, I bought the deluxe and like you haven't had to buy any DLC, but then the DLC hasn't been up to much, just extra civs and stuff. Really not worth it. Also doesn't help that they want so much for this expansion, for not really that much content.

When I bought it I figured it would include a significant expansion not just a bunch of extra Civs. Still I'm not that bothered, I was happy to give extra money to the devs.

Have to disagree with both - but I do understand you. I think that the expansion should be £20 not £25, and yes the extra Civs did not all interest me, but most did. After 250 hours so far I am happy with the money I have paid and will be happy to pay for the expansion. The deluxe was not a season pass, and it did come with more than just the game remember. At launch it was only meant to have the first 2-3 DLC, early access to Aztecs and soundtrack. We have got everything else for free so far.

I believe it was supposed to have 4 DLC packs but ended up having, was it 6? But yeah I get your point, we got exactly what we were promised, and more.

I'd still say a tenner would be fair, but then maybe I'm just old fashioned and remember when that's the sort of price expansions were, rather than being close to the price of a full game.

Edit - having said all that, I'm pretty tempted to grab it. £18.75 at GMG with their 25% off code, any better deals out there?

Like I say I do understand. I also remember when expansions were £10-15 and the game was £30-35, but everything is getting more expensive. :(

Meh I pre-ordered it for about 20euros.
I'm not ultimately into c6 like I was c5 but it's only going to improve with this expansion.

I'm still so far off learning civ 6 properly, compared to how I knew c5.

Zulus look strong as hell. I wonder if they will upgrade along the musket route?

Having a zerg of mech infantry armies later on will be nice.
