COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

980x + Quadfire 5970's here and the game runs like ****.

Having said that so does Fallout NV (still), Darksiders, F1 2010, all of which ran like crap before patches/driver updates. So it's annoying, but nothing new unfortunately.

What? Nobody is complaining about the graphics. This entire thread and most of the internet has one single greivence with the game. GAMEPLAY. I only mentioned the graphics quality to counter the other dudes argument, ie, low specs should be fine for this game.

Yes I'd like to have great graphics as well as a great game and great gameplay too.

Unfortunately you get none of the above with this rubbish. :p;)
 
had great fun last night playing on our server I did have some small issues but I have a 6400 C2D and 4870 GFX card.

I can't complain when I'm running old tech.

Had 2 hours of fun though great maps although nuketown for HQ is serious screwed up but great for spawncamping if that floats your boat.

And? So? The game stutters / freezes regardless of PC specs.

My CPU and GPU are dated circa three years ago. Should still be PLENTY to run this game maxed out smoothly with one hand tied behind its back though! Just like it does with MW2.

I have been playing fps games for over a decade i know when problems are due to having an old pc. This is not due to my pc.

I have a dual core 8200 oc to 3.2 ghz with corsair 1066 ddr 2 4gb and hd3850. The game should not be stuttering every 20 seconds.
 
man what is all the moaning about. I turned steam cloud off on steam and the microstutter has reduced.

I still get microstutter but COME ON the game is 2 days old. Just wait for them to fix it :(.

It stutters now and again and sometimes you get killed but I seem to be coming top a lot :) so I don't mind.

I think this game is not as good as COD 4 is when it released (maps are better imo) but it is something new and refreashing. Less campers (and i love sniping) less noobtubers) :) I think tryard (or how ever you spell it) redeemed themself with this game.

You can't please everybody. But I think this game deserves praises (the multiplayer anyhow).

People try and turn steamcloud off and see if that help a little.

Also for people with 120mhz monitors. change it to 100mhz i think the game itself looks sharper for some reason :)

People sent some pretty big threats to Toyota with their recent problems iirc. and nearly every industry and product ever.


And as your apology was completely hollow and the issue was never fixed surely those threat's where a little bit justified as you did not give them their refund just took their money and ran.

If that happened with any physical product the company would be sued/forced to give refunds yet as it's a game no one cares as broken products are just accepted by the industry. (as it's a console game you can't even blame hardware differences.)

MW2 has no problem running smoothly (and sharply) at 120Hz and with Steam Cloud enabled so I ain't changing that just for this game.

Is definitely not your PC. I have higher specs than you and my game stutters also.

I've noticed it got a lot better yesterday though. It's now playable for me, but still far too stuttery. About the same as in the vid posted a page back.
 
*touch wood* the game seems to run fine here. Watching the videos on youtube there seems to be two kinds of stutters, One seems pretty continuous fps drops or mini freezes which looks unplayable the other seems to be where something is caching or something and every 20 seconds freezes for 1 second which would be damn annoying. I would be rightly annoyed if i had these problems too, hopefully they will get fixed soon but yeah I'd be ****ed like everyone else with the issues is.

I can play FO New Vegas with performance issues but an online FPS i would go insane!
