COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

could someone please answer me a question about BO... i bought the game and was unhappy about the fact you couldnt play on the same team as your friends (actually prefer the MW2 way), so we gave up on it and went back to MW2. Have they updated it since so you can join servers with friends as well as be on the same team?
 
I'm getting a bit fed up with the lag and terrible framerate on PS3 Black Ops, so I'm thinking of buying the PC version. Is the multiplayer running well with the latest patch on the PC? Has anyone got both versions to be able to compare?
 
when it runs it is fine for me, but it just goes and crashes after 10 minutes now, never did pre a patch about a month ago. I give it a blast once a week in the vain hope they have fixed it but no joy yet
 
I get this very strange crash after about 10min too. The whole screen goes to an image of a clock that tells the correct time but has the graphics of a NES. I havnt found anyone else with this problem either
 
Single and multiplayer were both greatly improved for me by the patch just before christmas. New machine now, game runs beautifully when I can get in, however more often than not the music will stop and the game will hang on the main menu. I really enjoy it when it'll work but I can hardly be bothered to try any more.

Mine hangs too, just wait, it will start again.

Mine did this, same as the issue that plagued MW2 at times with the steam overlay. Turn off the in-game steam stuff and it shouldn't be an issue.

Although now with Black Ops, I am being pushed to playing it on the 360 at present as the PC version, if its not TDM or DOM then you barely find any servers. Love playing HQ and all I can find 99% of the time is 5 whole servers if any at all :/

lol its hardly failed but i understand what you mean bfbc2 had some howlers as did moh and other games. mw2 wasnt without it either.

thing is now it does run pretty decent on 90 percent of machines well over minimum spec and a lot of people now just troll the game hard :p

check steam and the call of duty . com forums 90 percent of posts are just troll posts .

for those that have pauses or hangs at start when loading

turn off steam notifications
turn off xfire
go offline on friends

you can still send invite to friends in game even offline and these are big causes for hangs.

also when you get a freeze as loaded up dont do anything start spamming keys just wait until things start moving again :p then it should play fine with no more hangs.

I think only yesterday, I saw an announcemnt that the PS3 and Xbox versions had been fixed.....

I didnt post it, becuase it didnt mention anything to do with the PC version.
