I'm so glad people are speaking out about this. If people don't then CoD BO will become the norm for devs/publishers that don't care about the gamers and just want money.
 
Radio Ones been covering a few days now i think, i keep hearing it getting mentioned on Newsbeat.

Not sure how much difference it would/will make though......

It works flawlessly on the 360 I hear, remind you of another title we PC gamers put on the map *cough Halo* ;)

x2 XP Weekend is fun, nearly prestiged again in 2 sessions on a Nukey 24/7 HQ server :D

I've settled in to the game a wee bit better when playing "normally" (no disrespect to those who ONLY play 24/7 Nuketown :D) however. I have 2 perhaps 3 HC Dom servers I frequent, made friends on them all, well admined. I haven't experienced a server crash this weekend (been on nightshift all week so don't know if this is just a new thing or not) and apart from the massive unexplained FPS loss in the Havana main street, game runs sweet as.

Biggest broken element I can spot (still) is the server browser. I cannot see more than 1200-1500 servers even though it suggests ca 11000 available but for the most part, yeah, I think we have at last a decent addition to the COD series.
 
No, server browser is borked. Even GameServers tell us that, company involved is called Daemonware and they are working on a fix ...
 
I've noticed a few dodgy characters too in the last couple of days. I like the way they try to hide it too (why they come to an objective based game I dunno cos lots of peeps can see them in spec!) then u look at their steam page and they have bans on record ... doesn't prove they are cheating but it's enough to warrant a further probe (if ur that bothered, I aint).

Aye, just with it being x2 weekend m8, I find the 24/7 Nuke servers are about Tac Insertions immediately in front of both main spawns and letting rip on respawns! :D Man, you'll be lucky to see a Cap the whole game ;)

Dunno if anybody else has noticed this, but if you get the standard kick for 5 tk's, you still keep any progression such as COD points and XP? Normally anything you have done in that round prior to the kick is wiped out. Hopefully this is just due to the x2 weekend as it's encouraging spam.
 
Anyone else get really hit and miss performance with Black Ops? Sometimes I can join a server and have terrible fps, yet if I close the game down and go on another full server it can run superbly? Seems really strange performance wise...

Theres 2 issues here I find - after 2-3 maps on any server it will start getting really choppy until I restart the game, sometimes joining another server will let me play another 2-3 maps before it gets choppy again sometimes not (note this is not due to a memory leak even tho it sounds like it). The other issue is the game seems even more susceptible to problems due to laggers - you always get that one person whos ping is stupidly erratic, probably got low fps too, and it seems to lag the whole game out, I can be playing a map fine until that person joins and then the whole game becomes choppy - but clears up if they leave/get kicked.

on another server he booted me for knowing the spawn sequence :confused: :D

Been having a similar experience myself, never get kicked when Im playing poorly but have been kicked a fair few times when Im playing really well :mad:.
Played for an hour last night and was kicked twice during solid kill streaks.
It cant be for camping, Im always a mobile player. I never dolphin dive and constantly come up against players that do, despite server messages saying they'll be removed they never are.

Doesn't seem to be ping, play with show fps on and sometimes it will play 90~45 lovely even in packed nuketown server, and others it will drop right down to 15 soon as i shoot. If I just have another go at starting black ops up straight away it can be fine, can't tie it down to anything...
