Also remember that this is/was horribly optimised for PC, might just be that tbh.

Running the latest nvidia release, only just grabbed this card a few weeks back. Thought I'd fixed it for good by disabling the steam overlay but still seems a little hit and miss. Do people install the realtek audio drivers or just use the ones Windows 7 installs by default like I am currently?
 
Ah, just noticed your sig; this game hates dual cores! I had the same chip as you (not overclocked) when the game came out and it was borderline unplayable, upgraded to a quad and now its fine.
 
I've heard that before, although the fact it runs pretty well most of the time would point to something else, don't think i'd bother/pay for going sideways to a quad on this platform. Just have to keep fiddling with it I guess until I find the culprit!
 
Well great. The latest patch has broken the game for me. I get lag in every single server I go on. But I wouldn't call it lag because I still see it in the final kill cam. It's like game stutter. Very annoying
 
Current I get annoyed by the no jump brigade. I tend to play as a runner gunner and do jump on occasion. Its an automatic reaction which i guess I have developed because sub consciously I feel it increased my odds of survival in close quarter combat.

Sometimes I can understand the moans, but i get 'divers' moaning at me for jumping.

It also annoys me that they call it bunny hoping. I know I had a massive gap on the PC but as far as I am concerned bunny hoping is when you can just constantly jump around with no movement penalty and was patched out of counterstrike about 10 years ago.

Gets my goat!
 
yeah encode higher :p 1080p

guess u use wmm depending on what op system you have depends on what setting you can use . or get a better editing prog. 720 isnt low really and unless its a monster vid i dont so any higher than 1080p

6th Prestige rank 36, played FFA and TDM for the first few weeks, now just DOM, only for about 3 hrs a week atm.

Perks Flak pro, slight of hand pro and gas mask pro - All for Nuketown ;)

This tbh. Btw, if there's been a patch in the last couple of days, I haven't got it yet but shadows off is the most single boost to fps you can get.

I had the opportunity to see Blops on the Xbox side by side to my PC version. As we know, this is a console port and tbh, it looks pants graphically wise on the Xbox so in essence, we are attempting to make the game look better when it isn't deigned to look good (if this makes sense!), or at least as good as we have become accustomed to on a PC.

Re: comments about server lag ... well, what did we expect when there was a monopoly from day one? How many of us have had our own servers (on MPs other than Blops) and migrated to other GSPs because we got terrible lag with that particular GSP? I know I moved my servers at least 4 times but ended up getting a dedi-box in a data centre which was the best option. The Blops servers in New York/New Jersey seem far less problematic than the London servers for example.

tried playing this a while back but ran like crap even with lowest settings, is there a new patch out? Anyone else on a dual core run it fine?

Think it was near beggining of jan i last tried to play it.

just had a game for the first time in a month and stability/stuttering seems to have improved a bit, but its still not acceptable and i just cba :( Hopefulyl a second hand q6600 will improve things.
