COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

I went from a E8400 to a Q6600 and it was a massive improvement. Wouldn't do it just for the sake of BlOps thoughjust had a game for the first time in a month and stability/stuttering seems to have improved a bit, but its still not acceptable and i just cbaHopefulyl a second hand q6600 will improve things.
.Also, great news about the mod tools, any more details for those of us at work with restricted interwebs?

My gaming PC Q9550 w/ GTX470 SLI (with or without SLI enabled) and my laptop T9600 (E8300 2.83gig dual core) w/ GTX260m (basically a 9800GT) get exactly the same framerate when playing its just as choppy on both with the same config (same resolution) and I've checked the desktop PC is running over 4 cores. The only difference is the dual core laptop takes an extra 10 seconds or so to stabalise after first entering a map.
Of course, and thats why everyone plays it. You don't have to be good at the game, you just have to take things that let you get kills indirectly (Warlord Pro for 2x grenades) or camp and spray n pray or spawnkill.
The map looks like a poor quality custom map.

I tried this game again recently. Absolute shambles. Its not a problem with the games performance, its the gameplay and content. Just not upto scratch for a modern FPS.

It is. I do pretty well on it, but i can see why people like the map and it's blatently because the enemy is only across the road because they can't hack trying to find people on a larger map, and the fact you can get easy kills with choppers, napalms, nubetubing, grenades, claymores and also the ballistic knife due to how small the map is requiring little skill or knowledge of map locations and general gameplay.

That's the main reason i went back to cod4, same with our team. got rid of the server and everything. I suppose it's our own fault, we got suckered into paying for a game at full price then having to beta test it, and instead of fixing the game what do they do? THEY RELEASE A MAP PACK!!!!!

Dont know about the rest of you but i for one will never buy another COD game unless it's at the very least got mod tools & dedicated servers and is not made to be tied into steam, wouldnt mind the option but i dont like being forced.

They were never going to fix the game before releasing DLCs. All they want is money and they really don't give a flying **** about the actual gamers. It's been an eye-opener for me, though: never again will I buy a game straight off the shelf, no matter how much I trust the franchise. I have Empire Total War and COD BO to thank for that!
Probably save me a Hell of a lotta money in the long run.

It might smart a bit, but I don't think an axe in the ankle causes instant death

Do tomahawks have like an assisted lock on?
Also does it seem like the assistance on the consoles is a lot more than pcs and it can even follow people through walls for a short time without touching your analog sticks. (probably been discussed a billion times before.)

Definately seems like there is assisted aiming, like a dumbed down version of the campaign lock on when you go down the sights, just to bring you in their general area. Certainly on console.
Especially if you go from a game like COD to BF or Killzone on PS3, aiming actually seems remotely difficult sometimes.
