Comfortable Jeans?

All jeans are horrid. No such thing as comfortable jeans.

They also completely suck for anything other than a warm, dry day. Suck when wet. Suck when cold.

No idea why so many people wear them. Except that it's the done thing to do, and everyone grows up watching people wear jeans on TV, etc.

They are crap tho :p

Also... Never tumble dry jeans or let them dry over a radiator. Always let them dry naturally either folded flat or hung to dry.

Why do you need to dry your jeans...

Laundry is inevitable, but thankfully there are people like Levi’s CEO and President Chip Bergh who want to make our lives a little easier.

According to him, you should never wash a pair of jeans. Ever.

:p

Ironic really as Jeans were basically invented as a hard wearing layer for all weathers.

My surmisal on reading your post could be WAY out of wack here, if so I apologise up front.
I got a mental image of someone just slightly overweight, who could perhaps benefit from a brisk 20 minute walk once a day, a short stab at the Dukan diet, and maybe a session with a hypnotherapist who specialises in mild low self esteem.
In 3 or 4 months, you could could put on a pair of 501s and see a completely different, smarter you in the mirror, suddenly jeans wouldn't be so crap.

Hey folks, something that I've always been a bit weird over is comfortable clothes, I much prefer jogger shorts / trousers and t shirts over wearing jeans / jumpers etc. Jumpers always feel "scratchy" and I get too hot with them on, and most jeans are just not comfortable at all.
Obviously you can't get away with dressing ultra casual on all occasions so was just wondering am I the only weirdo with these views? I hate the feeling of a belt tight around the waist when sitting down, I am not overweight either I just like loose fitting clothing.

Anyone else like that? What kinda jeans are comfy? The best way I can describe the uncomfortable jeans are "crispy!"

It sounds like it's not the brand of jeans you're after but the fit. You definitely sound like the sort of person who isn't going to be comfortable in a pair of ultra skinny denim jeans.

The Straight cut is what most people would class as "baggy" these days. Not as fashionable as Slim but probably more what you're after.

Also, raw denim is life.

You're weighing too heavy a denim if this is the case. Denim can work in all weather conditions.

I've taken to wearing Wrangler Stretch series (Texas and Arizona) jeans (straight or regular cut) - perfectly comfortable in most situations unless they get totally soaked but that is the same for most clothing. Might seem a bit heavy material at first but they quickly adapt to you.

You need to get a pair of stretchy jeans, will tick all the boxes for you.

I don't think I could go back to normal jeans after owning several pairs.

The good ones tend to be a bit more expensive than regular jeans but worth every penny IMO.

Saisnburys do some nice softfeel trousers that are a mixture between chino and jean, very comfortable for about £14 a pair (when I last bought a few pairs) and as I wear them to work (climbing under desks is not uncommon) they also look presentable enough to pass as work trousers.

I remember wanting to wear sweatpants forever because jeans were too uncomfortable...

... when I was 12.

And no belt with jeans? Way to look special.

But it doesn't dry anywhere near as quickly as non-cotton fabrics. The trousers I wear these days are the kind that dry within minutes whilst being worn.

Non-cotton fabrics can also keep you much warmer than the same weight/thickness in cotton. Non-cotton fabrics can also keep you warm whilst wet.

Esp down here where the weather is extremely changeable, something quick drying is a massive plus. And something that wicks away sweat.

I also can't stand the tightness/restrictiveness of jeans. So yeah, I have no business in this thread :p [exit stage right].

I'd wear these everywhere if I could get away with it

Nice cuffed light cotton pants.

I'm not a fan of jeans either, for work I wear chinos (formal dress code...) and on dress down days the softest/thinest jeans I could find, they are not very comfortable too heavy.

I've found that Gap jeans fit me well. Straight are my preference.

I've had many problems with Levi. There's seemingly no consistency with the sizing. Smaller sizes can be larger than the larger size. Was in Levi in San Francisco and they said that it was normal and it depends on where they were made... Eh? So what's the bloody point of putting the sizes on them if they mean nothing?

Hey folks, some very good replies here! Will check some of these recommendations, I am definitely not someone who buys by brand name (hence the fact I got a pair of jeans from Sports Direct! :D) it is purely bought on comfort, the fit is simply terrible on them, they are just mega-soft, but embarrassing to wear!
It's a bit like a duvet cover, when you buy them new they are like cardboard, and need a few washes to be soft, that's how I want the jeans to feel, not fussy eh! :D
